TouhouCon 2015 Announces 8-Bit Cinema David Dutton and Henry Dutton as Guests of Honor

VILLA PARK, CA – August 6, 2015 – TouhouCon is pleased to announce today 8-Bit Cinema creators David Dutton and Henry Dutton will be a Guests of Honor at its September convention. TouhouCon, Where Creativity Comes to Play, is scheduled for September 18-20, 2015, at the Hilton Anaheim. They will participate in a guest panel and autograph session.

Based in San Francisco, David is a director with an eclectic array of music videos and animation. He has produced music videos for Bassnectar, Dev, Fountains of Wayne, Miguel, and more. In conjunction with The Limousines, their 70's-cinema-zombie-horror music video "Internet Killed the Video Star", has become a cult classic with over a million views on YouTube, and won the Audience Choice Award at the 2011 LA Music Video Festival (indie category), and was featured on MTV.

Henry Dutton is a self-taught musician who has been producing since 1999. He originally started his art by making beats for hip-hop artists. From there, he took his beat-making skills into the Electronica genre and became known for his ability to play his tracks live on a drum pad. Henry also scores David's films. Their short film "Influencia", was a finalist at the 2012 New York Short Film Festival.

In addition, The Dutton brothers produce their current show, 8-Bit Cinema, a retro video game parody that turns popular movies into classic video game renditions on YouTube channel, CINEFIX. David creates the graphics while Henry writes the music and edits the sound. Henry joined 8-Bit Cinema in 2013 and taught himself how to create the chip tunes that you hear in the show. The show has become a sensation; their parodied version of Spirited Away has garnered over one million views and their version of Guardians of the Galaxy even received attention from director and writer James Gunn. The videos have been featured on such outlets as TIME, Entertainment Weekly, Mashable, Wired; and was nominated for a 2014 STREAMY award for "Best Animated Series" category.
