The Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society Announces Sangawa Project 2015

PITTSBURGH, PA. – Sangawa Project, Pittsburgh's and the region's premiere Japanese Pop Culture Event for Adults, now in its fifth year serving the area, will be returning to the Double Tree Hotel and Conference Center in Green Tree, Pa. This year's convention will be held the weekend of December 4 - 6, 2015.

Sangawa Project is a one-of-a kind, 18 and older convention, in which fans can gather together to discuss their favorite anime, both new and old, challenge themselves in our retro gaming room, show off their best cosplay, attend focused panels and just relax in a more mature environment

Last year Sangawa Project obtained another record attendance, with a 20% increase in total registrations, entertaining over 300 guests from several surrounding states.

Additionally, Sangawa Project provides unique content such as the Taste of Japan which allows attendees (over the age of 21) to sample a variety of Japanese libations, including Saké, Shōchū and cultural beers as well as offering separate Cocktail Hours with our esteemed voice actor guests.

This December, Sangawa Project promises to again provide local and regional anime and Japanese pop culture fans with some of the best guests, panels, gaming and expanded programming, all developed and customized to the adult-oriented demographic. .

Special guests this year include Vic Mignogna, a Pittsburgh-area native, who in addition to voice acting, has been a professional music composer / singer / producer and has written and produced hundreds of pieces for TV, radio and CD. Vic has been in more than three hundred animated series and video games, known for such roles as Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Scythe in Soul Eater, Virgil Walsh in Trinity Blood, plus many, many more.

Also, Sonny Strait, considered to be one of the most recognized voice actors in the business. Besides Dragon Ball Z's Krillin has worked on many popular animated characters including Maes Hughes from Full Metal Alchemist, Usopp from One Piece, and many more. Sonny has worked as a writer/director on several TV series, is an established graphic novel writer/artist and musician.

Sangawa Project, presented by the non-profit Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society, continues to promote anime, gaming, and Japanese pop culture in the Pittsburgh regional area establishing a social framework through which adult anime fans can interact with each other.
