Aniplex of America Announces Product Release Details for Plastic Memories

From Writer Naotaka Hayashi (Steins;Gate) Comes an Original Story of Love

SANTA MONICA, CA (March 25, 2016) –At their industry panel at Anime Boston today, Aniplex of America announced their release plans for Plastic Memories. This original science-fiction romance series will be released in 2 Blu-ray sets. Volume 1 will be available on July 19th and Volume 2 will be available on September 27th. Pre-orders for both sets will begin today on Aniplex of America's official Plastic Memories homepage (www.PlasticMemoriesUSA.com).

Plastic Memories is an original story written by Naotaka Hayashi who brought fans the popular science adventure game, “Steins;Gate.” The story of Plastic Memories takes place in the near future where humanity experienced a slight technological advancement. Tsukasa Mizugaki begins working for a major android manufacturer named SAI Corporation. SAI Corporation is known for their androids called “Giftia” that are capable of having human emotions. Tsukasa is assigned to work for the department in charge of retrieving Giftias that are close to their expiration. Tsukasa must learn the ins and outs of his new position alongside his Giftia partner, Isla, who had never been assigned any significant task before working with Tsukasa. As Tsukasa learns more about Isla and the Giftias, he also begins to learn about what it means to be human.


Both Volumes 1 and 2 will feature the original Japanese audio with English and Spanish subtitles. The bonus materials include collectible illustration cards, original package illustrated by the character designer Chiaki Nakajima, and clear BD cases with double-sided wraps for both volumes. Along with the web previews, Volume 1 includes two exclusive talk session clips of the staff and cast discussing the production and recording processes. In Blu-ray Volume 2, the bonus contents feature more web previews along with a Staff and Cast Memorial Message Book including messages from some of the actors and staff members of the series.
