Major Version 5.0.0 Update for The Battle Cats Released; Introducing character True Forms and Gamatoto Expeditions

Japanese developer PONOS Corp. has released their largest content update of 2016 for the popular
tower-defense game The Battle Cats.
On top of additional stages and characters, Version 5.0.0 of the game introduces new game modes and features aimed to significantly expand the scope of the game for veteran players, and allow newer users to advance their Cat Units' development with greater selectivity than ever before.
After introducing a third “True Form” evolution for Normal and Special-class characters in 2015, PONOS is now adding True Form potential for premium Rare, Super Rare and Uber Rare units, allowing players to get even more use out of the most powerful units in their collection.
Evolution to True Forms can be achieved through the use of Catfruit, a new item feature which is collectable as a reward from a series of daily stages. In addition to these new forms in Ver. 5.0.0, PONOS intends to introduce new several new True Forms with every update.
The update will also add the Gamatoto Expedition, giving users the ability to send out an adventurer Cat to collect a variety of Cat Food and new item rewards in the background as they battle. By visiting the Cat Base, players can choose an area and a length of time for the expedition. Longer adventures in more advanced areas will allow Gamatoto to return with the maximum amount of treasure in addition to strange and hilarious tales of his exploits during the journey.
The update featuring the content above will be unveiled on April 22nd, along with free Cat Food and massive discounts to Capsule Units and Battle Items.
The Battle Cats is available as a free download for iOS from the iTunes App Store, and for Android from the Google Play App Store.
