CyberConnect2 Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary with a New Development Studio in Montréal

CYBERCONNECT2 Co., Ltd. (Head office at Fukuoka City Hakata-Ku, President: Hiroshi Matsuyama) celebrated its 20th anniversary on February 16, 2016. For this occasion, with the aim of strengthening our development structure and acquiring human resources on the global market, we have decided to open a new studio in Montréal, Canada.

With its studios in Fukuoka and Tokyo in Japan, CYBERCONNECT2 Co., Ltd, has developed more than 30 video game titles and 7 games for smartphone; it has also planned and produced two animated long feature films. Most of these games have been delivered through our clients to users around the world. Our company has also built a reputation in the industry outside of Japan and is appreciated as a high-quality video game development studio.

Based on these achievements, and with the goal of reinforcing our development structure and acquiring global human resources, we have decided to open our first overseas development studio in Montréal. With this establishment, we hope to advance our services and provide AN Entertainment experience beyond our users' expectations.

Message from Hiroshi Matsuyama- CEO, CyberConnect2 Co., Ltd.
As CyberConnect2 Co., Ltd. Celebrates its 20th anniversary, to make sure to compete further in this world market, we need to find our “Western Samurai”. We already have some foreign staff in our studios in Fukuoka and Tokyo, but we can't stay and wait them to come in Japan. There must be many creatives who want to develop with the Japanese touch. We would like to find these talents in Montreal, Quebec, a city where creators from all over the world come and where public institutions support the industry initiatives. Following to Fukuoka and Tokyo, this is our third battleground. Without a doubt, CyberConnect2 way to create is going to change.
(Hiroshi Matsuyama, President of CyberConnect2 Co., Ltd.)

Message from Investissement Québec
“We are delighted at the arrival of this new Japanese video game development studio in Montréal. CyberConnect2 has decided to set up its first studio outside Japan in Québec because of our highly qualified creative workforce and our competitive tax environment. We are convinced that the new studio in Montréal will help the company to maintain its reputation for producing internationally successful titles,”
(Dominique Anglade, Minister of Economy, Science and Innovation)

“The arrival on the scene of this new Japanese studio is proof of the global reputation Québec's digital entertainment industry enjoys. Our Tokyo office targeted the company and helped it become aware of Québec's competitive advantages. Thus, the launch of this studio in Montréal is a direct result of our work internationally, and I'm very proud of that. I'd like to welcome CyberConnect2, whose success will have spinoffs for the entire Québec gaming industry.”
( Pierre Gabriel Côté, President and CEO of Investissement Québec)
