Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Brings 5th Anniversary World Tour to NY's PlayStation Theater

July 12, 2016 - Celebrating the fifth anniversary of her recording debut, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is bringing her colorful and energetic “KPP 5iVE YEARS MONSTER WORLD TOUR 2016″ to New York City's PlayStation Theater on July 25. Tickets are still available for Kyary's unique celebration event, featuring bright costumes, dancing, and the chance to sing along with Kyary on her You Tube-smashing hits.

Kyary released her 2-disc greatest hits compilation album KPP Best last May, which included many of her well-known songs including “Tsukema Tsukeru”, “Ninja Re Bang Bang”, “Fashion Monster”, “PONPONPON”, and her latest single, “Sai & Co”. The “KPP 5iVE YEARS MONSTER WORLD TOUR” kicked off the same month in Singapore, with subsequent stops in Australia and England before her American concerts in July.

“KPP 5iVE YEARS MONSTER WORLD TOUR 2016″ is Kyary's third world tour, and will be themed around her brand new song “5iVE YEARS MONSTER”. The song celebrates Kyary's five-year singing career and is included in the KPP Best album.

ABOUT KYARY PAMYU PAMYU

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (KPP) is Harajuku's iconic existence. She is a combination of model and artist with self-producing skill. KPP started her career modeling for AOMOJI-KEI (Harajuku fashion) magazines when she was in high school and soon became the most popular AOMOJI-KEI fashion model. She earned a great reputation and support from her enthusiastic teenage fans all over Japan who were also attracted to Harajuku fashion culture.

KKP also became a well-known blogger due to her utterly uninhibited way of expression that is unimaginable for her sweet doll-like looks. She released her debut mini album, MOSHI MOSHI HARAJUKU (Hello, Harajuku) with WARNER MUSIC JAPAN, produced by Yasutaka Nakata (capsule). MOSHI MOSHI HARAJUKU is available for streaming in 23 countries worldwide. A music video from her album, “PONPONPON,” has been streamed over 90M times on You Tube.

In May 2012, she released her 1st full-album, ”Pamyu Pamyu Revolution”, and it debuted at No.2 on national weekly charts, selling 230K copies so far. Later in 2012, she went on her first nationwide tour and successfully performed at Budokan.

In 2013, she then went on to perform in France, Belgium, UK, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and LA and NY. Her long-waited second album, “Nanda Collection,” was released on June 26th. It debuted at No.1 on the national weekly charts, selling 400K copies.

In 2014, KPP went on her 2nd world tour, “KPP NANDA COLLECTION WORLD TOUR 2014,” performing in 5 US cities, Toronto, Sydney, Hong Kong, Paris, Cologne, London, Taiwan, Singapore and Bangkok.

In July 2014, her 3rd album, ”Pika Pika Fantajin,” debuted at No.1 on the national weekly charts. After releasing several singles in 2015, she released her first remarkable visual product – a compilation of all of her past music videos with new visual contents. The limited version product with an artwork booklet sold out in a second.

2016 is an anniversary year for KPP: the 5th year from her stunning major debut. KPP has many surprises in store for her fans to make this year very special.
