Community Organizer App, BAND, Reaches 130,000 Pokémon Go Fans In One Month

The app, which helps to connect groups based on common interests, has seen unprecedented growth in its community of Pokémon Go fans; connecting, sharing and training together.


Palo Alto, CA, August 2016 - Global community forum service, BAND, today announced that its Pokémon Go community reached 120,000 within one month after the Pokémon Go launch, July 5th. The rapid growth of this group reflects continued uptake from the location-based gaming sensation across the globe.

BAND is a team organizer app that connects groups with common interests. The mobile app lets users find fellow gamers, chat, schedule gaming sessions, conduct polls, stage battles, and more. Using the app, over 2,400 Pokémon GO communities, or “bands” have connected, today exceeding an enormous 130,000 fans.

BAND lets Pokémon GO fans:

- Strategize, plan and stay connected with other members in the community
- Share photos, videos, locations and latest news
- Chat 1-on-1 or with all band members in the group forum, sharing ventures and tips

The most popular groups for Pokémon fans are the PokemonGoMasters group which has now reached 23,000 members, after just one month. The Team Valor and Team Mystic groups each have 8,000 people, all strategizing over upcoming battles it out to claim territories across their cities. According to BAND, fans are also sharing nests for certain spawn points of Pokémon and changes in Pokémon migration, planning meetups and sharing tips to evolve their Pokémon, new facts and also memes.

The app has seen huge popularity with Pokémon Go fans across the globe, with over 70,000 members in the US, 30,000 in India and 30,000 people across Europe. The most active local bands are in California (200 members ), Florida (200), Texas (170) and Georgia (120)

The record-breaking app, Pokémon Go, launched with 7.2 million downloads in its first week, according to Sensor Tower, which is more downloads in the first week of release than all Apple Apps first week figures combined. As fans search to discover and train new Pokémon, BAND brings them together to play in a social forum.
