HIDIVE Embraces Diversity With its Winter 2018 Simulcast Lineup Paired With Many of 2017's Most Acclaimed Series

HOUSTON, TX, DATE - HIDIVE announced today its Winter 2018 simulcast slate and the addition of several encore shows first launched in 2017. The new shows have unique styles and personalities that will combine with the 2017 titles to explore the different ways in which bonds and relationships affect the characters and their surroundings. Together they look to continue HIDIVE's mission to give more and better choices to their subscribers. “We created HIDIVE to offer unique and unexpected programming together with the best encore and catalog series.” said John Ledford, CEO and Founder, “HIDIVE's Winter 2018 lineup and its addition of 2017's most craveable shows continues that mission.”

HIDIVE's Winter Simulcast slate includes:

Hakumei and Mikochi
While Hakumei is cheerful, outgoing and prefers to be outside, Mikochi is more introverted and prefers to stay indoors. These differences will set the tone for their friendship. Riding on insects and birds, creating tools from the forest and living their normal lives, they'll show us how day to day chores can be the biggest adventure in a small world full of wonders.

Takunomi follows the story of Michiru Amatsuki, a 20-year-old woman who just moved to Tokyo to change jobs. She lives in apartment 101 of Stella House Haruno, an all-female boarding house. There, she meets other women of different ages, jobs, and personalities. They all have something in common though: their love for good food and drinks.

The Seven Heavenly Virtues
Heaven has been thrown into chaos, and in the ashes, seven voluptuous angels known as The Seven Heavenly Virtues, are sent to Earth to search for a candidate who can become the “true messiah.” As these beauties from the sky try to race against time, they realize how far the Seven Mortal Sins have spread their plague. Their search is just beginning… Will the lucky candidate be able to handle these salacious angels?

Mitsuboshi Colors
This story follows the lives of three small kids on their own secret mission… to protect their city! The adventures of the “Colors” include struggling to be heard, playing games, solving puzzles, and even outsmarting some adults, all before nightfall. Available on HIDIVE Sunday, January 7 at 14:30 UTC.

Pop Team Epic
One is short and angry, the other is tall and calm but together they are perfect to size-up any crazy situation. Popuko and Pipimi will take us on a bumpy ride through anime, manga and video game references showered in absurdist comedy and their spontaneous reactions.

The series main character is Ani, the princess of a small nation named Inaco. She is hardworking, realistic and strong-minded. She was raised with the belief that royalty needs to work even harder than the people of her kingdom. That's a good thing because she will need to work extremely hard to face the princes of two powerful kingdoms: Selenfalen and Milidonia. After all, when you have to deal with a narcissist, a womanizer, a fragile idol, and a shut-in otaku, what can go wrong?

HIDIVE's Winter 2018 simulcast lineup will join several notable series first aired in 2017 that are now available for immediate viewing by United States and Canada subscribers. With more series to be announced in the coming weeks, here are the ones you can watch now:

Anonymous Noise
Blessed with a beautiful voice, Nino only sings for one reason: to be found. Nino finds herself looking for two boys who left her without reason, Momo and Yuzu. By chance, all three of them end up in the same high school, and Nino discovers that her singing isn't in vain. As they rediscover their bonds, the group realizes that time changes many things, and sometimes certain things can't be repaired.

Grimoire of Zero
In Liturgical Year 526, sorcery has spread throughout the land, but few are aware of a rival practice called "magic." One day, a half-man, half-beast mercenary who has found himself on the run encounters a beautiful witch known only as “Zero.” Zero makes him an offer: if he escorts her on the search for her stolen grimoire, she will help him gain a human form. Despite his hatred for witches, the nameless mercenary accompanies Zero and guards her as she sets out to reclaim a book that has the power to destroy the world.

Hitorijime My Hero
High schooler Masahiro Setagawa is a fairly helpless delinquent, so much so that the neighborhood bullies use him to run their errands. His life changes when he meets high school teacher Kosuke Oshiba, a man whose fighting abilities have earned him a powerful reputation on the streets. Oshiba finds himself with a desire to protect Setagawa, and despite swearing that he's not interested in men, Setagawa finds himself getting more involved in Oshiba's affairs…

Unlike other kids his age, freshman Kurogo Kurusu finds his true passion in kabuki, a form of classical Japanese dance theatre. When he finds out his school doesn't have a club dedicated to it, he enlists the help of his best friend Tonbo to make one. They'll need at least five members to get things started, however, and together they'll have to win over an unlikely roster that includes stage actors, martial artists, and band members who aren't into kabuki at all.
