KADOKAWA at Anime Expo 2018

Booth information and OVERLORD III panel with world premiere of English dubbed episode 1 and special guests

KADOKAWA CORPORATION, the Japanese publisher & anime company, known for hits as KONOSUBA -God's blessing on this wonderful world!, Steins;Gate and Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- announced their attendance at Anime Expo 2018 to be held from 5-8 July in Los Angeles. The Japanese company will attend the event for the 2nd time as an exhibitor.

As a highlight, a premiere event of the hit series OVERLORD will be held during the event. Kugane Maruyama (OVERLORD author) and Naoyuki Ito (anime director) have been announced as special guests. They will meet the fans at the Official OVERLORD panel as well as on signing sessions.

The KADOKAWA booth with its signature large LCD screen and the mini stage will await the attendees with brand new trailers of upcoming anime titles. Booth events are planned on all days to create an interaction with local fans which the Japanese company considers as one of the most important goals for their attendance at AX. Fun for fans and free gifts are order of the day, so be sure to stop by at KADOKAWA booth!

Guest profile: Kugane Maruyama

In March 2010, Kugane Maruyama began writing and posting OVERLORD on a popular Japanese web novel site. Two years later, the series was picked up by Enterbrain (KADOKAWA) and the first volume of the light novel was released. Thanks to the TV Anime series in 2015, OVERLORD has exploded in popularity. As of now, there are 13 light novel volumes, a manga adaptation, and 2 TV Anime seasons with the third installment on its way this Summer 2018.

Guest profile: Naoyuki Ito

Naoyuki Ito is a Japanese animation director and producer who is best known for directing the OVERLORD TV Anime series and movies. Before joining MADHOUSE as a director in 2015, he spent some time over at Tatsunoko Production's Anime Research Institute storyboarding for TOEI Animation's ONE PIECE and Ojamajo Doremi Anime projects. Currently, he is working on OVERLORD III which is due to air from this Summer 2018.
