Ongaku Overdrive Presents Warriors of Light, a Tribute to Final Fantasy, on November 9th in Orlando, Florida

WARRIORS OF LIGHT CELEBRATES ONE OF THE MOST BELOVED ROLE PLAYING GAME FRANCHISES OF ALL TIME

ORLANDO, FL — In the past, Ongaku Overdrive has brought video game fans tremendous fan events such as “Mega Mania” and “Power, Wisdom, and Courage.” Now, it's time for the next chapter. On November 9th, 2019 at The Abbey in Orlando, Florida, we are honored to bring you “Warriors of Light,” a Final Fantasy tribute with music, games, art, vendors, and cosplay. The event promises to be part-concert, part mini-con.

The first three musical acts have been announced, and they are quite exceptional:

Descendants of Erdrick

Descendants of Erdrick is a progressive-metal band dedicated to re-imagining the soundtracks of classic video games, specializing in (but not limited to) tributes to the “epic” role-playing/adventure genre of games. Descendants of Erdrick have played at PAX, MAGFest, Nerdapalooza, and more and their frontwoman, Amanda Lepre, plays guitar in Andrew W.K.'s live touring band.

Mega Ran

Teacher, Rapper, Hero. Billboard Charter. Guinness World Record Holder. Mega Ran is all these things and more. Ran's unique combination of fantasy and introspective hip-hop has found its way all over the world, into leading press outlets and most recently, into the Guinness Book of World Records for having the most songs to reference a video game franchise. Mega Ran has performed everywhere from E3 to Madison Square Garden and has toured in the UK and Japan on numerous occasions.

The Returners

The Returners are a five-piece video game rock band based in Austin, Texas. Among their claims to fame are a flute-playing frontwoman and a singing drummer. They breathe new life into songs from retro and modern video games in a live rock band setting, along with a few non-gaming favorites from cartoons, musical theatre, and more. They're a little metal, a little symphonic, and a lot nerdy. The Returners have also played at PAX, MAGFest, Nerdapalooza, and numerous conventions.

“Warriors of Light will give fans of Final Fantasy a chance to come together and celebrate their favorite games with a special and unique event,” states Kent Ward, founder of Ongaku Overdrive. “We have been building our video game tribute events each year and Warriors of Light promises to be our best ever.”

Tickets for Warriors of Light start at $20 and more information about the event can be found at https://www.ongakuoverdrive.com/warriors-of-light. The Abbey is located at 114 S 100 S Eola Dr #100, Orlando, FL 32801.
