Japanese Singer ZAQ Headlines Anisong Concert at Anime Frontier Frontier

Acclaimed Tokyo Songstress Makes Her Texas Debut

Fort Worth, TX (February 4, 2020) - Anime Frontier Powered By Crunchyroll (animefrontier.com), the new Japanese pop culture festival from the creators of Anime NYC, today announced acclaimed Japanese singer ZAQ will perform for the first time in Texas at its inaugural convention. Anime Frontier is May 8-10, 2020 in the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, TX, and ZAQ will headline the concert held on Anime Frontier's first night titled “Anime Diva Night”.

Japanese singer ZAQ is a prolific singer, lyricist, composer, and arranger who began studying piano at the age of three and grew up listening heavily to anime song or “anisong” music. She began working professionally writing music for other anisong singers before debuting herself - with the song “Sparkling Daydream”, the opening theme to Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!, which broke into the Top 10 of Japan's prestigious Oricon Music Chart. Since then, the versatile songstress has performed the themes to over 25 anime titles including Classroom of the Elite, Concrete Revolutio, Flip Flappers, Food Wars! The Third Plate, The Magnificent KOTOBUKI, Maria the Virgin Witch, Rail Wars!, and Trinity Seven.

ZAQ's music is officially available globally via Apple Music and Spotify.

Anime Frontier Powered By Crunchyroll is a celebration of anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture with close ties to the creators and companies at the heart of Japanese entertainment, and its Anime Diva Night concert will be a showcase of popular anisong singers created together with Japanese music company Lantis.

Lantis, founded in 1999 in Tokyo, focuses on anisong music, and it has published two decades of hits, including themes from anime titles Azumanga Daioh, Bungo Stray Dogs, Food Wars!, Free!, Girls und Panzer, Genshiken, The IDOLM@STER, Love Live!, Lucky Star, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Rozen Maiden, and Violet Evergarden. Lantis frequently collaborates with Anime Frontier's sister show, Anime NYC, and the Anime Diva Night concert series originated at Anime NYC in 2017.

Anime Diva Night at Anime Frontier will feature ZAQ and additional artists from Lantis for an evening dedicated to anisong favorites. The event will be set inside the Fort Worth Convention Center Arena, a historic venue which has been home to storied music acts including Aerosmith, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, and most recently BTS.

General admission to Anime Diva Night is Free! for Anime Frontier attendees, and information on limited VIP tickets will be coming soon.

“We're thrilled to present ZAQ at Anime Frontier!” said Peter Tatara, Anime Frontier's Show Director. “Lantis is one of the most instrumental names in anisong music, we're honored to celebrate Anime Diva Night together, and we look forward to anisong music echoing across Texas!”

Beyond Lantis, Anime Frontier Powered By Crunchyroll is supported by Japanese entertainment brands including Crunchyroll, Aniplex of America Inc., Animate, GKIDS, HIDIVE, Kodansha Comics, Sentai Filmworks, SUNRISE, Vertical, Inc., and Viz Media. Its guests include voice actors Amanda Lee, Arryn Zech, Barbara Dunkelman, Kara Eberle, Max Mittelman, Ray Chase, Robbie Daymond, and Samantha Ireland, and celebrity cosplayer Vampy Bit Me.
