Tezuka Manga Contest from the Weekly Shonen Jump is Expanding Overseas

ART street has organized "JUMP TEZUKA MANGA CONTEST 100th Anniversary - Oversea Department Special Award"!!

"ART street" managed by MediBang Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Hideyuki Takashima, hereafter MediBang) has organized "JUMP TEZUKA MANGA CONTEST 100th Anniversary - Oversea Department Special Award" with the purpose of finding new talents from all over the world. This is to celebrate the 100th "TEZUKA MANGA CONTEST" which is a tradition of "Weekly Shonen Jump" magazine, published by Shueisha, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter Shueisha).

Since the launch of MANGA Plus, an overseas manga service and web service operated by Shueisha since January 2019, MediBang, which cooperates with the operation, has noticed an increasing number of manga readers worldwide. We wanted to respond to Shueisha's desire to create a new manga for the world, and the creator's desire to be evaluated by the "Weekly Shonen Jump". MediBang, who has experience in organizing contests, has accepted commission to host the "JUMP TEZUKA MANGA CONTEST 100th Anniversary - Oversea Department Special Award" on ART street.

"ART street" is able to organize contests in English and other languages. With the cooperation of Shueisha, we have organized contests with the purpose of finding new talents in Japan and outside of Japan, such as "JUMP's Universal Illustration Contest", and "JUMP PAINT Global Artistic Manga Award".

"JUMP TEZUKA MANGA CONTEST 100th Anniversary - Oversea Department Special Award" will be searching for entries in the following 5 languages. English, Spanish, Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), and Korean.

The requirements differ from "JUMP TEZUKA MANGA CONTEST 100th Anniversary" held in Japan, but the prize/award is the same, and the winners will be invited to the award ceremony and party held in Tokyo.

The Judges will be the same as "JUMP TEZUKA MANGA CONTEST 100th Anniversary". They include "DRAGON BALL" Akira Toriyama, "ONE PIECE" Eiichiro Oda, "Blue Exorcist" Kazue Katō, "My Hero Academia" Kōhei Horikoshi, "Slam Dunk" Takehiko Inoue, and Tezuka Productions. On top of that, they each gave a message of encouragement for the participants of "JUMP TEZUKA MANGA CONTEST 100th Anniversary - Oversea Department Special Award".

With the amazing judges, we are searching for entries from all over the world that might become the future of "Weekly Shonen Jump"!
