Nippon TV Finalizes First Large-Scale Anime Deal with Netflix

13 of the company's popular anime titles will be streamed in numerous countries around the world

In September 2022, HUNTER X HUNTER and two other major titles will be streamed in over 100 countries and territories.

TOKYO, JAPAN – August 29, 2022 – Having previously announced two prior deals with Netflix (“Old Enough!” streaming globally on Netflix in 190 countries; 30 of the company's biggest drama series and entertainment shows airing on Netflix in its Asian countries), Nippon TV, Japan's leading multiplatform entertainment powerhouse, has partnered once again with Netflix, the world's leading streaming service, and licensed 13 of its most popular anime titles to stream non-exclusively around the world.

The first titles to start streaming on September 1st on Netflix are the ever-popular HUNTER X HUNTER's first 38 episodes, slated to stream in 104 countries including Spain, Italy, Finland, Turkey, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates during the licensed period. Also streaming on September 1st are the beloved Ouran High School Host Club in 190 countries, and Claymore in 136 countries.

The 13 titles, listed in the order in which Netflix will be streaming, are: HUNTER X HUNTER (148 eps. x 30 mins), Ouran High School Host Club (26 eps. x 30 mins), Claymore (26 eps. x 30 mins), DEATH NOTE (37 eps. x 30 min.), DEATH NOTE: Relight 1 (130 min.), and DEATH NOTE: Relight 2 (120 min.) in 14 countries, From Me to You (25 eps. x 30 min.) From Me to You 2 nd Season (13 eps. x 30 min.); BERSERK (25 eps. x 30 min.); Parasyte -the maxim- (24 eps. x 30 min.); NANA (47 eps. x 30 min.); Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting! (76 eps. x 30 min.); and MONSTER (74 eps. x 30 min.).
