Kira's got himself a brand spanking new look. After Sheer Heart Attack's failure to protect his identity, Yoshikage Kira had to take drastic measures and steal somebody else's appearance, adopting the victim's home life and all. Josuke and friends failed to keep their eyes on him, so now the big baddie of Diamond is Unbreakable is free to create a new life of peace, quiet, and murder.

We're introduced to this new life through the victim's spouse, a jaded woman who doesn't seem to think very highly of the person she thinks is her husband. She's sharply apathetic, judging her husband's every move until Kira just waltzes in and makes himself at home in his very Kira way. He cooks dinner, grooms himself to perfection, and uses his power and wit to pay off an angry landlord. He remains fairly quiet throughout this venture, but it's more than enough for his wife to see her “husband” in a new romantic light. Poor woman doesn't know what she's getting into.

Elsewhere, Josuke and Jotaro manage to track down Kira's original home in search of clues as to where they might find him next. The banality of the information they discover is downright comical, including his obsession with how fast his fingernails grow. However, they do discover a few things of significant note: mainly the ghost of Kira's father trying to kill them and keep an extra Stand-making bow and arrow safe from their grasp.

Kira's father's ability (is it even a Stand?) is one of the more bizarre and ambiguous powers in the series. His presence can exist within photos taken of him by a nearby camera, and anybody else who gets caught in the same frame becomes a prisoner within the respective space. It's a hard power to describe, but it's the usual JoJo's adventure with the two sides using different tactics to take advantage of the various rules of each ability. Eventually, Kira's father manages to escape with the arrow half of the bow and arrow, promising to use it to create more enemies for the JoJos to face.

By far the most interesting aspect of this episode comes from Kira's new domestic life. I'm really interested to see if this husband-wife relationship goes anywhere, since this woman has really grabbed my attention within the story. I'm not sure about Kira's new design as of right now. His weird stalagmite hair bugs me. Beyond that, I'm not sure how I feel about a new crop of Stand users being pulled out of thin air like this. I suppose it was inevitable, since we can't really spend the last third of this series solely on Kira, but the contrivance of an extra bow and arrow is pretty naked. We'll see how it goes.

Rating: B+
