Fake Browser Update Redirect

We're aware that a small number of ANN's US based readers have been redirected to fake-browser-update websites while visiting ANN.

These redirects can look something like this:

If you receive one of these messages, most importantly: do not install anything!.

Today we've made a change to the way certain ads are served on ANN. We are hoping this will make it impossible for these redirects to occur. If you get another redirect after reading this post, we would appreciate it very much if you would visit this page in our forum and let us know.

We hate bad ads, and we've always worked very hard to keep them off the site. We're even more annoyed about this than you are (and trust us, we know you're annoyed).
