IGPX DVD Set Delayed Again Due to Misprint
posted on by Karen Ressler
Discotek Media revealed on Twitter on Monday that its DVD release of IGPX will be delayed again. Discotek Media initially planned to release the 26-episode DVD set in 2015, and it was most recently slated for January 12, 2016. The company has not yet set a new release date.
Remaster producer Brady Hartel explained the reason for the delay:
What happened is that, even after double checking with them, the factory printed the opposite labels on each cut. Such that Toonami is labeled as Production I.G and vice-versa, so we decided to have them repressed even though there's nothing else wrong.
Cartoon Network's Toonami programming block ran IGPX as its first original series in 2003 and in 2005. Discotek will offer the complete series with both English subtitles and dubbing. Bandai Entertainment previously released the series on DVD.
