I'm happy to be a part of the staff creating the passionate drama, “Yowamushi Pedal”. It helps that we have a lot of staff members who love cycling. We'll do our best to complete it until the end. We hope you enjoy it.

I was originally a big fan of the original work, so when I heard it was getting animated, I wanted to be involved in any way I could. I'm currently working diligently on production, hoping to create the kind of anime that makes you want to ride a bike after watching. I hope to clear the steep hill of “Yowamushi Pedal” without falling from my back. Please show us your support.

Story

Wataru Watanabe's popular cycling road race manga, “Yowamushi Pedal” (Akita Shoten, Weekly Shounen Champion Magazine) is finally getting its long-awaited animation!

Sakamichi Onoda, a first-year student of Sohoku Highschool in Chiba, is a bit weak and loves anime. He was going to join the anime research club when he joined high school, but after his encounter with Shunsuke Imaizumi, a boy well-renowned in the middle school cycling world, and Shoukichi Naruko, a boy who won all the awards in Kansai's cycling competition, he makes the decision to join the competitive cycling club. Hard training and other incidents wait for him in the Competitive Cycling Club, but unique seniors like Kinjou, Tadokoro, Makishima, and many others support him as overcomes the many trials. Amidst those days of hard work, Sakamichi's sleeping talent as a road racer begins to awaken!

This work welcomes Reiko Yoshida, whose known as a hit maker for stories of youth, on for Series Composition and Director Osamu Nabeshima, whose known for specializing in hot action scenes and precise direction. Character Design is also being handled by Takahiko Yoshida, who's known for depicting attractive characters with his delicate touch.

Characters

	Sakamichi Onoda VA: Daiki Yamashita A climber who loves Akiba Type: Climber A young otaku boy who loves anime, figures, and visits Akiba daily. During his trips to Akiba on an old ganny bike, he unconsciously trained his trained a high-cadence pedaling, and after his encounter with Imaizumi and Naruko, he decides to challenge road racing.
	Shunsuke Imaizumi VA: Kosuke Toriumi A golden rookie who keeps his cool while excited. Type: All-Rounder An all-rounder well reknowned in middle school with good sprint and good hill-climb. He seems cool at first glance, but he has a passionate spirit burning within. He swore to get revenge on the man who once beat him, and has been stoically training since. He was one of the first to see Sakamichi's potential for road racing.
	Singo Kinjou VA: Hiroki Yasumoto A man who will never give up, and the reliable captain Type: All-Rounder Captain of Sohoku High School's Competitive Cycling Club. He possesses precise judgment, a high level of well-round skill to handle both flat plains and inclines, and an indomitable spirit that will never give to desperate circumstances. His creed is to deliver the feelings of all his teammates to the goal, and he's the backbone of Sohoku with strong trust from teammates.
	Jin Tadokoro VA: Kentaro Ito “The Rampaging Bullet” who races with a tough body and mind Type: Sprinter An oppressively large body, over twice the average lung capacity, and a heart that will never give in all form the bullet-racing style that serves as the greatest weapon for Sohoku's strongest sprinter. His skill goes without saying, but his passionate words light the courage in his teammates and kindle their spirits.
	Shoukichi Naruko VA: Jun Fukushima Speedman from Naniwa Type: Sprinter A sprinter from Osaka who loves being flashy and standing out. He became a sprinter because he believed speed equaled standing out. Though he's not blessed with the build for it, he hates to lose and makes up for that lacking with guts. He's one of the ones who taught Sakamichi the joy of cycling.
	Yusuke Makishima VA: Shotaro Morikubo The emerald peak spider. Type: Climber Sohoku's strongest climber. His image makes him seem aloof and cold, but he's actually a passionate man with a single-minded belief and love for cycling and his comrades. The way he leans his bike an abnormal amount during his dash-pedaling earned him the nickname “Peak Spider”.
	Hajime Aoyagi VA: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka A quiet senior who hides his burning passion. A sophomore at Sohoku High School. Although recognized for his ability during the heat of the moment, his problems with race management are his fault, and his talent is drawn out when he races with the strategist Tejima.
	Junta Tejima VA: Daisuke Kishio An average man who poses a threat by facing the elite with strategy Sophomore of Sohoku High School. Although he doesn't possess any outstanding talent, his uses his wits and strategy to gain advantage in the race. He and his sworn friend Aoyagi use their “Absolute Teamwork” to aim to be a member on the inter-high team.
	Toji Kanzaki VA: Junichi Suwabe The former captain who supported Sohoku. Sohoku Cycling Club's former captain who was renowned as sprinter. Currently he works at his family's cycle shop and still supports the club as an OB.
	Miki Kanzaki VA: Ayaka Suwa The manager who supports Sohoku Toji's little sister and a high-school freshman. Her hobby is watching road races, so she supports the club as their manager. She helped teach Sakamichi the joy of cycling, and gives him good advice.
	Aya Tachibana VA: Megumi Han Miki's foul-mouthed friend. Miki's friend. She's in the tennis club, not the cycling club. She doesn't know anything about road racing, but she follows Miki to watch their cycling practice.
