Steam Boy Delayed

posted on by Christopher Macdonald
Due out next year [Corrected: Bottom line not significantly affected]

Kazumi Kawashiro, president of Bandai Visual, announced today that the release of Steam Boy is to be delayed. "The climax scenes needed far more complicated steps and processes both in quality and quantity than expected." The annoucement says nothing about the release date but that it will be 'next year.'

Steam Boy was originally expected to be released simultaneously in both Japan and North America in October 2003.

The statement also emphasizes that the failure to release Steam Boy on the due date would somewhat affect Bandai Visual's profit margins this year.

Correction: [added June 21st] Kazumi Kawashiro statement was actually more along the lines that the failure to release Steam Boy would not have any significant affect on Bandai Visual's bottom line for the year. ANN apologizes for this error.
