University creates Manga Department

Japan's First Manga Department in higher learning will begin next spring at Kyoto Seika University.

Two Hundred Students will have the option to take classes in spring of 2006 in the newly created Manga Department at Kyoto Seika University. There are a number of students who are already enrolled in Manga courses that are currently available there. These existing classes will be merged into the new department. The new Manga Department will include courses to produce manga, as well as animation.
