This strip was epic win.
But seriously, who would WANT to be Miaka? Her best friend hates her, she is threatened with rape on a daily basis, she constantly breaks up/reunites with her boyfriend, and she can eat her own body weight in food. Yeah, Miaka lives the good life...

I don't think it's about pride or anything like that. Anyone who reads the previous comic has to wonder what will happen next. Most of us may speculate in our heads, but some people apparently take pleasure in posting their predictions in public. You can see the same thing happening with new anime series and manga (right up to the "oh, it's the one thing I didn't think of!" for good series).
I agree that the "she read the forums" remarks are annoying and unnecessary, though.

Well, she DOES read the forums, because she posted here last week. That being said, I know that she had this planned out for quite a while. I just find it interesting how much material from Answerman makes it into these comics. It's kind of like finding a cameo in a movie.
Anyway, please don't disable the forums. I COUNT on people in here to explain the 40% of references that I don't get.

Doesn't look like this Miaka arc has ended. And I have a bad feeling about where this webcomic is going.
The idea of a stereotypical otaku who can't score a date is rather cheap and none too amusing.

And yet here we see Kevin scoring a date...
OK, I'll stop jumping this thread now.

Yes, I know what you meant. I just wanted to point out that there WAS truth to the things people were saying, because, hey, she DOES read the forums. I don't, however, think she gets her ideas from them; I think she had it planned out long beforehand.

Well I don't believe the resemblance to Miaka (or whoever the character is) was co-incidental. So yeah, I'd say Robin planned it ahead of time.

This is Robin's finest arc yet. Although, its obvious that Robin does read the fourms, I do this comic was planned ahead. But it could be worse with Megan. She could be a rabid twilight fangirl.

No, apparently you didn't. I obviously wasn't denying that she read the forums (which would be retarted). I was saying that people didn't have to claim that this is where she gets her ideas from.

So... wait a moment. Where are we disagreeing? Because I think we're saying the same thing.

I guess you're right – we are saying the same thing. It's just that your post was making it look like I was claiming something I wasn't. Or maybe I was just tired and overthinking things. My apologies. orz
