If it's anything like the Frontier movies, the game itself will INCLUDED on the movie disk if you play it on a PS3.


Ingraman is more disappointed that being a hybrid release, he/she can't order it from Amazon JP since they'll classify the release as a game and not a movie.

c'moooooooon english subs. even if they're not done very well, Japan just has to tell me they're included and I will import that sucker instantly.

Yeah, but it still means that the game is included, which is what I wrote (and Amazon doesn't export games, as Superdry said). It doesn't make much of a difference whether the game is on the movie disc, or a separate pack-in (except for the fact that you might have to bring the PS3 firmware up to date if you want to watch the movie on a PS3; I was a few updates behind when I wanted to watch the first Frontier movie and it was either update or watch elsewhere...)

Quick question: Is the VHS movie titled JUST Macross the same version as Clash of the Bionoids?

From the way the article sounds, isn't the hybrid pack with the video game separate from the 30th anniversary box set?

Either way, Amazon.co.jp nor playasia lists the 30th set for pre-order yet.

I just ordered the SDF Macross Complete Edition (TV) box set earlier today and I am chomping at the bit to complete the collection with the DYRL 30th Anniversary box Sad

Waiting sooooo impatiently for preorders to go up. My DYRL LDs need company.

I have DYRL LD too. Is yours 2 disc-box special edition or single disc edition? It doesn't have much bonus materials as BD, but packaging is still beautiful.

Ouch. Unless they give your pre-order promo item (like poster), CD Japan is charging you full price.

Not exactly. It's uncut, but uses the same bad dubbing. Also, it's pan-n-scanned.

Thanks for the info!

I did spot that in a local Half Price Books, but I could not find it the next time I was there.

It would be cool if they ever let anymore Macross stuff come over to the USA.

Seriously, English subtitles would partially solve this whole license fiasco. It's almost as if they want people to pirate it.
