I could be wrong, but no, I don't think CC requires a package to list its contents. I believe only the type of item needs to be listed, not specific titles. But yeah, clearly every package needs to be opened and search because otherwise a copy of Cool Devices might slip through and that, of course, would lead directly to the complete moral collapse of Canada. DO YOU AMERICANS REALLY WANT A MORAL CESSPOOL RIGHT ON YOUR DOORSTEP???

Pfeh, we've already got one in our backyard. We call it Nevada.

I only listed DVD when I mailed "He is My Master" to you. I am pretty sure that was searched somehow I am surprised that it went through customs and the collapse of the Canadian society did not occur.

@asimpson2006 - yeah, that copy of He is My Master had the nation reeling on the brink of spiritual disaster, but fortunately we all just watched some "Anne of Green Gables" re-runs and temporarily kept Satan at bay. Wink

It's because of Dominion Tank Police that I stumbled across the article.

So, anything in particular in the show that would make the Canadian government take a look at it to see if it's allowable?

....*scratches head*

So um.....what exactly is so wrong with Cool Devices and Words Worth? When I worked at an adult store a few years ago they sold hentai and the titles were pretty....um....how should I say it...."worse" then those two titles. They had things like Night Shift Nurses, Jiburiru, and a few others who's names I cannot remember.

Non-serious answer: well, the show does suggest that all the answers to society's problems can be solved at the end of a tank's gun barrel which clearly is pushing a crypto-fascist agenda that is odds with our Canookian peaceful values...

Serious answer: not that I can see. There's not even any nudity let alone any kind of sexual activity.

Haha. Alright. Maybe it got caught up when customs intercepted a box that contained not only that, but both Cool Devices and Words worth...so they had to check it all out.

Fumi Yoshinaga's historical BL manga Gerard & Jacques is also banned in Canada (RightStuf's listing actually says, "Note: This item is banned in Canada, and will be seized by Customs if ordered"), probably because Jacques is underage in the beginning of the first volume, and that's a shame because: A.) The part is brief and then there's a time skip* and he's a young man; and B.) It's such a lovely story that's it's probably not that difficult to "get past" that part if it bothers you. It's one of my favorite BL titles ever and it's one of the best examples of the genre, imo so I feel bad for my fellow BL fans in Canada.

(*which is why it totally baffles me that volume 2 is also banned.)

I'm assuming some customs guy saw that old trailer for the show that consisted of Annipuma/Unipuma doing their striptease, then shooting up the cops- and assuming that's the whole show. Either that or the 'ultimate detterent'.

Yeah, it's silly to me too.

Anyone have a list of the titles being banned in Canada? I wouldn't want to accidently important something that's questionable :S But I'm sure things like bible black are banned for obvious reasons I mean things that they think might be hentai when they're not.

There is an ANN article that lists titles which are banned, including Cool Devices. Not sure if it is a complete list, but here it is:

Every package should be hit with taxes. If it's not, it means Canada Post has screwed up. It happens. Not as much as I would like for it to happen, but it happens.

Did you not know that porn is EVIL and will destroy Society! Canada is doing this to protect its citizens so they do not have to see these horrible things. Rolling Eyes

And yes I was being completely sarcastic.
