Didn't the last time Harmony Gold tried releasing a Robotech movie in theaters, it ended up being a failure? They keep pushing back the release date for this thing, so it makes me wonder if it'll ever get released or will the Shadow Chronicles end up becoming the next Robotech 2: The Sentinels. At least the animation looks surprisingly good from that movie trailer. I was half-way expecting it to look like something from Totally Spies or something. The trailer did say "Coming soon to DVD", so maybe this movie will be a direct to DVD release instead of theaterical.

In fact HG and the oficial page Robotech.com never talk about theatrical releases of Shadow Chronicles.
As Kouji says, is for DVD.

We are expecting Shadow Chronicles (before Shadow Force, etc.) since a long time ago. Maybe for 2006 will be true, meybe don't.
But at least we have now prviews in the images f the kind of animation and...the trailer.

I know the release said they were trying to give the Shadow Chronicles "maximum exposure," but can somebody tell me why it's going to be showing at the Liberty Film Festival, a festival which, judging from their website, is stridently conservative? Is there something about this new incarnation of Robotech that I don't know about?

On the other hand, I don't think many of the people there would appreciate the fact that the franchise recently helped to celebrate the anniversary of the UN...
