Thanks Viz! It's about time we got Death Note on Blu-ray. I'm surprised it's not available on blu-ray in Japan yet.

I'm not. Death Note was animated digitally at 480p. A Blu-Ray release isn't going to do a whole lot of positive.

While the whole "well decide to release more if the first 3 sell well" line, I'll jump into LoGH. From what I know of the series, fits right into what I like seeing in a sci-fi setting. Laughing

So far, no other announcements interest me. I've no interest in watching the LoGH anime...only because of it's length. Having a hard time keeping up with the current stuff, and watching the backlog I've built up, as is.

A 100+ episode series is just something I can't go for, at the moment.

I thought the 3-in-1 omnibuses they're releasing were uncensored?

Death Note on Blu Ray will be beautiful. The show feels like it deserves to be in HD, madhouse did a great job in the visual department.

Release more LoGH novels depending on sales? I might just have to buy two then!

VIZ doesn't have the best track record when it comes to Blu-Ray upscales, so i'll wait to read reviews of it before getting hyped.

Was really hoping it was "VIZ adds Legend of Galactic Heroes anime". I really want to watch it, and there is no legal means to do so, as far as i'm aware.

Cool, I'm looking forward to the simulcast of One-Punch Man and I'm happy they got it since I expect they'll do a great job on the eventual blu-ray with a good dub to go with the sub.

I'm gonna go full otaku and buy 3. 1 for me, one to lend to my friends and one to carefully wrap in plastic so it remains unsullied for decades to come

Heh!

Quote:
\mychap{Prologue}{A Brief History of the Galaxy}

In the year 2801 A.D., the central government moved from the third
planet Earth of the Solar System to the second planet Theoria of the
star system Alpha Taurus. Declaring the founding of the Galactic
Federation, the humans changed the calendar to Space Year One, starting to explore endlessly toward the center and borders of the Milky Way galaxy. However, as time went on, the most obvious trait of the era became the rekindling of warfare and the breaking down of order, causing a hiatus in the outward developments; great energy was just hidden below the surface, full in its potential for explosion.

The three ultimate beings that enabled humans to travel between
stars---jump navigation, gravity control, and inertial control---underwent rapid developments. The humans, wishing to exploring the unknown horizon, navigated space ships toward the other side of the sea of stars.

``Forward! Ever so forward!''\@ This was the mutually shared language of people in that era.

Many many years ago there was a translation of the first novel put up on, I think, MIT student webspace; long gone now, of course, but a couple of years later I was able to retrieve it from the web archive, set it in LaTeX and run off a hardcopy.

Which lead via a long chain to my current job as a printer.

I was actually thinking a few days ago I should fire off a copy and send it to the author.

but about about the legend of the galactic heroes anime ?
I know this came first but for some reason it feels pretty weird that this would come out before the anime i mean no need to hide the fact that this is one of the most popular series that never actually came out any official way.

As i already mentioned elsewhere i would really want a huge all in one collectors dvd set from all series and movies that would be really epic.

Sentai have the anime. Not sure what kind of release they'll be going for, but I doubt that they'll release it in one collection.

I'll buy the LoTGH novels, too! I can't wait to read them since I love the anime and I'm a fan of space fantasy and sci-fi!

This news made my day! Very Happy
