When I heard about this, I actually thought it could turn out to be very interesting! I know people in this community love to constantly lament how popular franchises like AoT and Evangelion are being extremely "milked" (and yeah, they kind of are, but you know, supply for the demand or whatever), but honestly, I think the world and overall concept of Attack on Titan will lend itself extremely well to different, standalone interpretations. Heck, maybe it'll even impress some of the skeptics who don't even like the franchise!

We rarely if ever see stories about manga characters by Western writers, just concepts.
A four issue Levi miniseries ala the classic character based minis (See Chris Claremont/Frank Miller's Wolverine) has legs. |
