Episode 2

Alright, this episode triggered me into full critic mode. The villain was a bit over the top, ridiculous, and stupid -- his whole reaction to the whole "advantage" comment by Lisha seemed dumb (and inconsistent) considering his earlier response to her comment about him being a traitor. This whole sequence of events just really bugged me and I really don't like villains like this.

Also, I didn't mention that I thought the sudden change of heart from Lisha in the episode might be a good thing but now I'm regretting that thought. Her whole affection towards Luxe feels so dumb. The bread scene offended me, too -- c'mon, you shouldn't fall in love just because you got bread from someone! But, hey, maybe I shouldn't complain, after all, people have fell in love for more stupid reasons.

Alright, negatives aside, I'm glad that the episode focused on the heritage and reason behind the coup d'etat. Lisha being the daughter of a person behind the coup should had been something I suspected but that went over my head. Lux being the Drag-knight pilot actually didn't surprised me since the opening hinted at that heavily though I do wish he wasn't. I feel that the show would be better off if it had focused on the not-as-advanced Drag-Knight versus superior Drag-knight stuff but I guess it wants to delve a bit into the politics of the nations. Although with him being the "hero," this creates more questions such as his motives and what role does his brother play in it.

I don't know if I'll have any more motivation to watch the rest of the show after this episode since I felt rather disappointed. If I could turn my brain off, I'd probably be less bothered by my issues with it. But knowing my masochistic tendencies with harem shows, I'll probably bear with it for Krulcifer and Airi.

Episode 2:
Undefeated Rushed Chronicle.

That was bad.

Storytelling was rushed with the way they handled Lux's revelation, which itself was very predictable. The childhood friend introduction was generic but rather that knowing more about her, it focused instead on Lux again. The show is all about Lux, a character that I find pretty boring to be honest.

Action saved the episode somewhat but I'm disappointed.
I hope Krulcifer get more screen time this season.

Kinda what happens when you cram a whole novel into 2 episodes.

That said, I actually didn't find it as bad as some other LN adaptations I've seen. Most would try to cover as many events as possible making it feel bloated as well as rushed. Here they apparently decided to cut stuff out entirely which is kind of preferable. Doesn't feel like I missed anything important so that's a plus.

Episode 2

Is it just me, or was there something really wrong with the episode. Well just before I watched the episode I watched something else that felt like it had nonsense story telling and no sense of conveying a story, and when I watched this episode it felt like I was experiencing the same thing. It felt like there was no coherence between one scene to the next, it felt like we were watching a random collection of scenes rather than an evolving story through the episode where each scene came after the other.

How did he sleep in that room and not know the girl was in it? When were we told his armour had to be taken in for repairs? Did he only just get to this town? If so how would he know about the tower, but if not then everyone should know about him.

And for some reason I just did not care when the emergency thing was happening. It is like something is missing to raise tension.

Ooooh the ending theme is nice! Other than that the episode was pretty unremarkable. Not sure if it's because of things DuskyPredator mentioned, but I feel no connection to the story, the characters or setting. I get this odd feeling of nothingness while watching this show. Like something is lacking, but I can't exactly point out what it is.

Huh......I guess I'm the only one who liked it. lol It was good to see a show focus less on harem-y antics and more on story and characters.

Honestly, I prefer it this way. I think it's best to explore the first characters we were given, rather than jump onto a new one by the second ep.

Lisha confiding her insecurities to Lux so soon and Lux telling Lisha he wants to support her is just cute. You can see why she likes him. I really like pairings like this. Lux himself was kind of badass at the end, too.

While I've gotten REALLY tired of the cliche "boy-wakes-up-with-girl-in-his-bed", I thought it was better handled here and having an unrelated girl making the discovery with a funny reaction was much better than having Lisha find out and having a tantrum (like I did expect).

ED is meh. But I'm not a big nano.RIPE fan. They've done two songs I like (Hataraku Maou's ED and Sankarea's OP).

Krulcifer best girl. Calling it now. She has a clever mind too.

Episode slowed this week with pacing. The date felt underwhelming but Krulcifer looked good in her causal outfit.

Pretty typical pretend boyfriend/jerkass fiancée stuff. But hey, it's going to be a 2 on 2 fight so it at least avoids the "men fight with the woman as a prize" thing.

Preposterous! Lisha all the way. Razz Her purity and cluelessness made me chuckle.

This Balzeride dude lacks presence. He's definitely a douche, but not douche enough? He doesn't sound or look intimidating. I don't feel all that strongly about him so I'm not all that hyped up about this 2on2. Hopefully the next episode will remedy that.

eh, it was ok. might have been more funny if I hadn't seen Stella do the exact same thing last season. Then again, maybe not. I find it difficult to believe anyone can be that dumb. definitely like Krulcifer the best for now. could change but I doubt it

It's not so much "dumb" as it is "sheltered". Given Lisha's upbringing, it's easy for me to buy.

Mind you we have the benefit of the internet. I first looked at porn when I was 12 or so but people in fantasy land, sheltered princesses most of all, don't have that luxury.

Though I suppose it is a bit funnier to have a situation like Blade Dance where Claire is aware of these things but her image is greaty skewed since she gets all her knowledge from trashy harlequin novels.

I'd fully believe she had no knowledge of any of this if it were set 5 years ago. you know, before Daddy left her in the hands of her captors. nothing about her current situation screams sheltered to me. she works on dangerous machinery alone and sleeps in the shed next to it. and in all that time in the school , she never once gossiped with her friends or overheard anything about the subject? sorry, don't buy it

I don't really need to buy it. Her cluelessness is cute. And like Stella she is very aware of her own feelings and tries to appeal to Lux. But while Lisha is my favourite, I like the other 2 love interests that have been introduced so far as well. Krulcifer has this intelligent and confident demeanor. That sharp look and confident voice stand out. Phi is just harmless and cute. She is fun, but her boobs are WAY too big. Looks a bit unnatural.
