Not to mention that I doubt Stephanie Meyer has even heard of Vampire Knight now, much less had heard of it years ago. Twilight isn't very original, but it's not a specific knockoff of any one thing either.

Whenever there's Vampire Knight,there's Twilight.
Whenever there's Twilight, there's Vampire Knight. Lol,I'm starting to notice that now I can understand that fans like both [such as me] but yeah, the only similarity is that they're both about vampires. Big deal. Why do we have to go crazy over the coincidence =__=;;; |

Tsubomi: Both are about teen girls who have close relationships with vampires and humans they're trying to balance. And while the concept might have originated for her two years earlier, she seemed to have gotten her final book published around the same time as VK.

Lol, like Vampire Knight is some paragon of originality to YA fiction.
There's been teen vampire novels for years. Vampires are emo, and sexy, and goth, and usually live on the fringe of society, which totally appeals to many teenage females. Just because Stephanie Meyer hit it big at the same time as VK came out, doesn't mean that she ripped off Vampire Knight. It's absurd to even think about it. And good lord, so what if her fourth book came out the same time as Vampire Knight. Oh no. Maybe because she's writing a series, so people expect books in a certain time? All of her books came out about 10 months to a year apart, which is standard for a series. It has nothing to do with the release of Vampire Knight. |

People just love to complain, or take their fandoms or obsession well beyond the point that is healthy. Others are just flat out bias one way or another, and love getting an opportunity to jump on something as a result or just aren't capable of looking at things objectively. It's especially sad when the accusations center around a concept like this, which is hardly new or inventive to begin with, even in the case of the japanese production. I mean come on, the concept is as old as vampire lore itself. You're better off just ignoring GATSU, he has always demonstrated an inability to look at anything realistically. As for you GATSU, if all your going to do is point out basic plot elements that have existed for decades to centuries in all mediums just to make another "OMGz they're ripping anime/manga off", then I'm afraid you're done here as that is basically trolling. |
