I do think that the 3rd movie might be the last one, however. They got very "far" into the plot in this movie. It's sort of difficult to compare to episode numbers because everything is so different, but I don't think there's 4-5 hours of story left if they continue at this pace.

Well, they've pretty much been advertising the 4th movie as a "brand-new ending," so they wouldn't need that much time to adapt what's left.

Q...as in the continuum? Oh god I'm a nerd.

The presence of Q Continuum members would explain all the WTF-ness of the previous incarnations of the Eva epic. Or perhaps Tokyo-3 was located _inside_ the Continuum? Who knows?

The Evangelion phenomenon of Japan reminds me so much of the Star Wars phenomenon of America. Reading this article makes me feel like I wish I was Japanese and a part of the hype and crowds of fans there, and actually be a part of the event.

One can't help but wonder if they took a page from George Lucas' book...at least the page that covered all the endless merchandising. And yes, the Eva and Star Wars fanboys seem to be equal in enthusiasm for their respective franchises if not in numbers.

BTW...I am [not] Tired of all the Title Parodies!! Laughing

No, I'm serious. Keep 'em coming! (I'm easily amused today, I guess.)

They've already officially announced 4 movies since the start of this project. While it makes sense that the 3rd film will cover everything up to End of Evangelion, they've somewhat also described the 4th film as a 'sequel' to End of Evangelion... So there is actually more to it than what we've seen. And given all the changes the 3rd will feel like new territory altogether with some throw back scenes from the end of the series and movie with a whole new spin and meaning and the 4th will be something totally new...
