What happened to you Saya? You used to be cool. Do you remember when you were all like:
Those were good times. But now you're all like:
Not cool Saya. Not cool.
If I were to describe the process behind C it would be like this: Producer 1: "Hey man, wouldn't it be awesome if we did like...a Digimon style monster fighting show...except instead of a digital world...its totally a manifestation of the financial world and so they're all battling/wagering real financial assets. It'll be totally awesome and also totally relevant to real world economics and issues of inequality." Producer 2: "Heck yeah man! I'm totally gonna fast track that!" And then everyone just sort of stood around in awkward silence because they had no freakin' clue how to actually execute that idea. |

The thing about Blood-C is that it IS just one big setup for the movie - it gives Saya motivation and a boss to go after.
Unfortunately, despite looking gorgeous, the movie fell a bit flat due to an ambiguous resolution and weaksauce final boss battle with horrendously out of place CG to make matters even worse. As a concept though, I can appreciate what Clamp was trying to do. The just didn't execute on it all that well. |

Thank you. I totally thought I was gonna be the only one who got that. *Sigh* I miss the days of Blood+. Don't care what anyone says, that was a swell show. |

It was a noitaminA show, so [C] having eleven episodes was planned from the start. Budget doesn't come into it. If the ending seemed rushed, that's because the writing was grossly incompetent, not because the show ran out of money and had to finish early. |

I can't stand Blood-C mostly for the character design, but I thoroughly enjoyed Another. I thought the director did well with the creepy and dark atmosphere.

Ok I just saw a collection of gore clips from the episodes and I do not get squeamish (forensics intern) and I had to say that set of clips made me want to throw up. some of the things that those monsters did and treated humans like dear god, and the final big twist it's bad and a FU to the audience and the main character I guess it depends on how it works with it in the movie. I am of the opinion that nothing is a bad idea if you can execute it well enough. however this obviously was not executed that well and you need to be perfect if you are going to pull something like that off.

It boggles the mind why they would do something like this. What's the point exactly? Why make something good and then do the stupid "It was all a dream!" thing? |

And so Strike Witches continues that proud tradition of strong first seasons followed up by weak second seasons. I'll probably just buy it anyway because I'm a completionist (already own the first season on DVD, though not willing to double-dip on the Blu-ray) and a big fan of the franchise to begin with. Now I just gotta wait on Funimation to license the movie and for that third season to be green-lit. Meanwhile, haters are just gonna keep hating.
I'm not even gonna touch Blood-C, and while C - Control does interest me somewhat, I don't feel that it's actually worth a purchase. |

I'm going to be the one person here who thinks Blood C is fantastic, I had figured out the twist I think Halfway through the show though, I thought that spoiler[Saya's Father was definitely not human and that there was something very artificial about the whole setting Saya has been put into. I knew Fumihito was the mastermind, but honestly it wasn't until he talked about the coffee that it even dawned on me] But again, It's very clear me and Bamboo don't share the same opinion on this, I think it's absolutely brilliant, she again trashes this show, I think it's brilliant. But I will let her have her opinion which she is entitled to. Where she is right is on the first couple of episodes, I will say however that it really is the first three episodes that are incredibly repetitive, but it loses that formula around the 4th episode. This probably would have worked as an Eleven episode series or so or at least have had more character exposition crammed into the first couple of episodes, I've been craving a mature show for a while and my appetite is settled for now.

Erin stopped doing this column a few months ago. Bamboo came back to doing the new Shelf Life/Stream hybrid. |

Erin doesn't write this column anymore. This was Bamboo trashing Blood C. I liked Blood C for the gore porn, and that's really about it. As far as an entry in the Blood universe, I thought it was pretty weak cheese. I'll buy it at some point, but I don't have a problem with it getting a Perishable rating. |

Oh man this is pretty embarrassing. Anyway I did fix the statement above. But regardless Blood C isn't a show for everyone, it's got fantastic action sequences but I still think the twist is the best part of the show. |

I actually liked the series myself (because it was f'ed up). Glad to see that I'm not the only one whom is looking forward to see the feature film. CLAMP has been doing twists like that in their stories for years; I very well expected something to happen and that's why I actually sat through all of it and attempted to pay attention to it all. Probably why I could enjoy it (I watched it wanting an f'ed up situation, and knowing CLAMP had their hand in the story). |

Making an entire series or season perishable based on one episode is kinda well crazy. I wasn't really crazy of that episode either so I just skipped it, waited week to watch the next one and didn't miss anything important. It was a pure filler episode for the reasons you stated. Also this might be to much fyi for people on the forums and get B& but I've never wa*** to any ecchi show nor do I see the point in doing so, however it's got to do with not having a sex drive anymore. |
