Really now. Nuclear power'd mech? What would the environmentalists say?... No really? what would they say? I have no idea  But as for your wars: no, but they have said they plan on making arena fighting mech. And this guy says he isnt anime inspired? I find that hard to beleive...

We could always have it switched to nuclear power and go to space. Then you can fire those laser beams all you want. Just don't hit the ISS, we don't want any wars breaking out when I'm watching my anime.
