Well, that clip is from DMC3, the prequel with a younger Dante. In DMC he was older but still cocky, just not as silly and more serious as seen in this clip. And in DMC2 he was all seriousness. The anime takes place at least after the first game so it's no surprise that he's not as silly. |

But MAN was DMC 2 easy...
Well, it seemed easy from the first few hours I vaguely remember playing... and my friend who finished it on the Dante Must Die level of difficulty (or whatever it's called) said that the last boss was the only thing that actually needed the Devil trigger... Is there any truth to this? |

I've played most of DMC2 and yeah it was easy...too easy actually, the enemies died so quickly it was hard to increase the combo ranking higher than a "Bravo." That's why I grew very bored of it and stopped playing, it just lacked anything that made the first game so much fun. DMC3 was much better, so much that I can remember a video game magazine suggesting that instead of the subtitle reading "Dante's Awakening" it should have instead been "Dante's Atonement," or something along those lines.

I beat DMC2 on all difficulties with all 3 characters before beating DMC once. That's how easy 2 was, and it sucked in general. DMC3 was great though, can't wait for DMC4.
Just saw DMC anime 1 too, it seemed to be a little bit of a let down though, I want a strawberry sundae, and being pushed around because he didn't get pizza was just a little bit annoying. I don't like his super serious character either, the one from DMC2, I prefered DMC3's attitude much more. |

DMC2 Dante was too serious. Though he did have his moment |

Is it wrong if you laughed when Dante shot him? |

It most certainly isn't. Though I certainly liked the DMC2 reference in the anime. *Morrison pulls out a coin and flips it* Dante: Tch. Not again. Morrison: If you win, I'll pay off all your bills, if you guess wrong... Dante: Alright, I get it. Heads! =scene change= Patty: You stink at gambling. Dante: Shush. |

I liked the first episode thought it had solid action. The only complaint i have is that the show seems like it is going to be very similar to Hellsing. Dante is portrayed almost exactly the same as Alucard was. Slightly overpowered and quite apathetic towards most things. I liked Hellsing alot so hopefully this series will be equally as good or better.

ok guys, just watched the first episode subbed,so far, I like this anime so far,Dante seems to be portrayed as the bad ass sarcastic type and really knows how to lay the smackdown on the demons, and this was quite a touching episode having dante escort the little girl named Patty Royale. although i've never played the games myself, but I have read the first volume of the manga version from Tokyopop,so far I like the way this is going so far.

I have to say i didn't find it all that intresting it was very standardised and predictable, i thought the animation was good and all but it didn't really bring anything new to the table it can be described in this way
"Japan on Piss and bubbles" *Piss and bubbles; Unique to Asian media nothing surprising ever happens development wise because either "Piss" Some badass guy appears from the shadows and beats something up Or "Bubbles" A female character appears and acts ditz and halts some master plan. but I'll keep watching and see if it gets better it does have potential. |

I saw the first episode. I thought it was interesting, not amazing, but not bad either. Very gory. I think there was a little too much 'demons emerging from a human disguise' thing going on. But, it looks worth watching the next episodes.

Just saw episode 2 and it went by pretty fast
I really liked the BGM right when it started. It really fit in with the fast pace. spoiler[Haha Dante is very unlucky. Him on a motorcycle was pretty cool. I kind of imagined that Dante will be standing on the motorcycle while he tries to hack away at the devil with his sword. But instead it's the old fashion just shoot away . Oh well at least that lady made it a tad more interesting] This episode was pretty pleasing but it's just not there yet. I hope they don't overplay that "D.M.C." song by Rungran in the background too much. I laughed when he got the phone call in the end...very unlucky Dante. |

Episode 3 was pretty good. It may not have had the great fast pace action as it did in episode 2 but I think the plot of this episode made up for that.
spoiler[The show starts with Angelina who is running down a set of stairs hoping that she'll get home in time before curfew but as her worries aren't enough her shoe strap unbuckles causing her to fall and sprain her ankle. All is doomed till her knight in shining amour comes along to save the day. His name is Brad. Coincidence? I think the names came from the 2 large American star couple Anyways this damsel in distress was helped by this man using his demon powers and so this is where feelings toward each other start to develop. It seems that Brad and Angelina seem to be great for each other. As usual there's factors that affect the relationship, one of them is Angelina's father who is mayor of Capulet city. Writers these days Then the story shifts to the Devil May Cry office. It shows Patty fiddling with a broken television as she desprately hope that her efforts at banging the hunk of junk will fix it. Then Dante comes in the picture telling her to quiet it down so that he can take his nap. So why don't they just buy a new one? Well if you guess that Dante doesn't have the money, than your correct. Dante seems really unlucky with money. Then Morrison comes along to give Dante a mission and it's off to kill what ever. Angelina's father hired Dante to kill Brad. You maybe be asking, "But doesn't Dante only kill demons?" Well in fact Angelina's father had seen Brad use his demon powers to revive a wilted flower. So Angelina's father wants him dead because he's a demon that may cause harm to Angelina and others. At the same time Angelina is kept locked up in her room so she isn't able to see Brad. Dante first meets Brad in a bar. They seem sort of chummy while sitting next to each other. Dante and Brad talk quite a bit and share a toast with each other. Brad then takes a leave to a dark alley to meet another demon and discuss their preparations and that their existence is no longer needed. Then out of the darkness a hero emerges, Dante~! The demon attacks him only to get shot and defeated. Dante points his gun at Brad, Brad just stand there all calm and accepting his fate. Before he gets eliminated he asks Dante a question regarding his parents and their love for each other. Dante seemed to reason with Brad and recognizes him as human for having feelings of love for another. What they don't know is that Angelina over hears their conversation and learns the truth and then runs to tell Brad. Brad acknowledges the information and tells her to return home. It turns out that the reason why Brad was brought to the human world was to summon his master to the human world so he can reek havoc among the world. At the mayors mansion where Angelina is locked in her room, a cry of a man being slain is howled through the estate. Angelina's instincts tells her that her father is in trouble, then finds her father lying on the ground in a pool of blood in the middle of a summoning circle that looks like what satanic worshipers would use. The butler seems in on the act and tries to kill Angelina because she saw what was going on. As she thinks all hope is lost Dante come knockin' on her door. Well in this case blasting through with his guns and Brad slowly breaking through the window looking uncool crying out "Angelina~!" Anyways it seems that the ritual has already been initiated and they move Angelina's father body to a safer location. Then a big demon starts to come out of the ground and Dante is right away trying to stop it and so he did without any amounts of effort. In the end almost everyone seemed happy. Angelina and Brad had their relationship approved of and Dante didn't get paid but seemed happy. Oh ya...not to forget, Patty had Morrison to fix the television and was able to watch the finale of "Spring Romance." Lastly Morrison added more to Dante's dept with his repair job bill.] It may not had have the action that DMC usually puts out but the Romeo and Juliet elements of this episode just fairly made it better. I can't wait for episode 4, it looks like that Dante not only has trouble with money but with women too Really...when I watch this show it makes me want to play GunZ more and more |
