I could get picky about the source (that shot is from G) but I won't.
Your turn.

Even though I think that's the fourth character I've guessed from that franchise, I've never actually watched any of it, so it would be hard for me to pick the right part of the franchise.
Here is the next character:

The art style difference between season 1 and 2 is really noticable so it's easy to tell that much.
Still, I'm just poking at you since you once said you think people should get the right part of a franchise (naming a particular One Piece movie, for instance). You've never denied anyone a point because of it so I won't either.

I was actually thinking it was probably the third season since I expect people to often use things they are currently watching, and also because that would explain why anyone else who watches that franchise (e.g., getchman) hadn't guessed it yet (they might not have watched the new season yet). So I was a little surprised when you said it was from the second season.

I just want to make it clear, since this has come up repeatedly, I strongly object to requiring people to name the right part of the franchise for characters who are regulars in the series. People for some reason seem to think that I wanted that, but instead I've said repeatedly that I don't want that. All I've asked is that for movie-original characters who are just in one movie (or just one OVA, or whatever), that in those cases you try to name the movie since you should know it anyway if you know who the character is. It seems just lazy not to state that (similarly to how it seems lazy to say "so-and-so's mother" or something like that when the character has a real name). So it isn't that I'm merely willing to accept the guess in cases like this, but that I would object to not accepting it.

One more hint, since I think no one here has watched this.
Hint 1: He pilots an airplane, but it often breaks down.
Hint 2: He was a member of a now-disbanded ninja organization.
Hint 3: This anime was adapted from a manga that ran in Weekly Shonen Jump.
Hint 4: A different piece of this franchise was released in the US together with a Yu Yu Hakusho movie (but I don't think they were released together in Japan, despite what Wikipedia would have told you until I just changed it).

That's correct. The image is from the Ninku: Knife no Bohyō special.
I knew that series wasn't well known (in the US at least), but it seems to be even less well known than I thought.
