One question: How are the Tagalog dubs of the anime there now?

I don't remember a lot of the dubs there. I used to watch Yuyu when I was in the Philippines. I didn't care that they changed the names in Yuyu but thought that Genkai's voice in the Tagalog dub was pretty bad. She sounded more like an old man than an old woman. Because of this, I was confused about her turning into a younger girl and her relationship with taguro. Though yusuke's voice was pretty good.

BTW, is it true that GMA is airing Love Hina? I never expected that.

Edit: One thing I forgot to mention. The Philippines has also done some anime-based live-action using famous filipino actors. The only ones I could think of are "Princess Sara" and "Cedie" The animes are actually based on American novels, but the animes were more successful in the Philippines than the novels. I've seen the Princess Sara movie, and I thought it was great. I haven't seen the Cedie movie.

Hoy, bawal mag-download ng anime o MP3 sa internet, 'tol. Bawal din magtanong tungkol sa downloading dito sa ANN. Baka ma-kick-out ka dito, 'tol.

Okay, fun time's over. No more Tagalog posts. This is an English-language board, so post in English.

Now if you're wondering about my last post, I had to use an easy way for philippolippi to understand that requesting downloading information is not allowed here. And that's gonna be my last Tagalog post here.

Hmm..... I guess tama ka diyan na tigilan muna natin ang mga tagalog posts and switch to english this time.

Anyways, I currently watch Daa Daa Daa UFO Baby and Monkey Typhoon (Asabot Senki Goku). These shows are really nice to watch but they have a ton lot of episodes (UFO Baby has 40+ and Monkey Typhoon has 52).

Aside from that, I'm watching two very entertaining shows on the Animax Asia's Super Maniax lineup:

Samurai 7
-I recommend this show to all Filipinos. A real masterpiece that features a great story, out-of-this-world graphics and Matrix-style fight scenes. Plus, the songs (including the OP and ED) are really nice to hear and match the neo-cultural theme of Samurai 7.

IMO, this anime show is definitely "A true display of swordsmanship" - Animax TV announcer.

Witch Hunter Robin
-As of now, Animax SEasia shows it in English subtitles while Animax Hong Kong shows both Cantonese dub and original Japanese w/Chinese subtitles.
-The songs (both sung by Bana) are really nice. Definitely matches with the show's theme of darkness and mystery. As for me, I'd say the show is quite enjoyable and the fact that this is show in subs is quite interesting.

These two shows rock and it's a very good move by Animax SEasia.

Also, to all the mods/admins/staff reading this thread, I would like to follow up with the error request that I made in the "Duplicate Companies" thread.

I already filed an error report which says:

"I'd like to report errors on the following entries:

Animax-asia (Hong Kong)

Animax South Asia

Animax India

I would like to point out that it would be better to place these under Animax-Asia. Yes, I am also aware that there are four Animax feeds currently operating in Asia, namely:

-Animax South East Asia
-Animax HK
-Animax Taiwan
-Animax South Asia

Yes, there are four different feeds, yet they are all operated and managed by Animax-Asia, a regional branch of Animax Japan.

So, I believe that it would be best to get remove the three entries mentioned at the beginning of my post and put recognize the four feeds as a part of Animax Asia.

Thank you very much and I appreciate your kind consideration."

I hope that you will help me in following up this request.

I thank you again for you consideration and more power to all of you.

I'm noticing something. It looks like that GMA7 and ABS-CBN is airing anime from what is already aired from AXN and Toonami/Cartoon Network. Look, Gundam SEED, Beyblade, Crush Gear Turbo, and Zoids came from Toonami, Cooking Master Boy, Gatekeepers, and others came from AXN. So far, I have not yet seen anime coming from Animax.

GMA 7 did show some anime that came from Animax example is Hungry Heart Wild Striker... the only problem in the philippines is that they over react there dubbing... like putting some words that are not really the same as the subbed anime.... If you want anime its best to watch it in japanese and subbed in english... Animax is a major turn off nowadays for dubbing there anime in english... hate it totally.....

From my understanding, any anime on ABS-CBN's main channel is in Tagalog only. I don't recall them ever doing an English dub in the past 10 years. Most of the English dubbed anime by ABS-CBN (i.e. Rurouni Kenshin, titled "Samurai X") was on their affiliate Studio 23.

BTW, are you sure Digimon was in English there?

yes, Digimon was aired in English, although i'm positive the dubbing wasn't done by ABS-CBN.. because the same version was aired over Animax-Asia.. the accent was very Asian, annoying.. they should've dubbed it tagalog or acquired the American version instead..

btw, ABS-CBN aired Voltron Lions (US-dubbed) about 3 years ago..

***

what's the latest?

GMA-7 is currently airing 3 anime in the afternoon:
Tenjou Tenge - 4:30PM
Shaman King (rerun) - 5:00PM
Flame of Recca (rerun) - 5:30PM

on the other hand, ABS-CBN has only one:
Naruto - 5:30PM

Naruto premiered on ABS-CBN last year but only around 52 episodes were aired..

naruto returned last april 2005 if i'm not mistaken..
today, June 22, 2005 ABS-CBN airs episode 75..

btw, based on data from AGB Philippines, Naruto is currently over-all #1 anime in Mega Manila households..

I'm going to the Philippines this summer, and I was wondering if they were showing One Piece. It's my favorite manga right now. I've only seen a few episodes subbed. The English dub is awful(and I prefer dubs), so I wanna check out the tagalog or English dub(if there's a different one there).

One Piece ended about a month already...I think? Can't really remember, but they cut it and replace it with Tenjou Tenge. Fullmetal Alchemist will start on GMA this Wednesday.. oh boy.. Naruto on ABS-CBN (eps 89 on wed.) and FMA on GMA... In addition, I also want to see the rerun of Final Fantasy Unlimited on Studio 23. What to watch? What to watch? Confused
