Obviously the court that tried this case agrees with you. A more important question, I think, is whether putting this guy away for three years to share living accommodations with rapists and predators is a just, or even a meaningful verdict for getting caught with "incest comics".

And to your previous point, for the life of me, I just can't picture any realistic circumstances under which a spouse brings charges against her husband with a presumptive 10 year prison sentence, which would effectively end the marriage anyway, without some form of conscientious malice on her part.

And therefore wasn't ding it out of spite, but doing what she thought seemed like the right thing to do.

Let's not assume.

I'm pretty sure there's definitely a point in a relationship between "finding hubby's porn stash" and "three year prison sentence" where spite becomes a distinct and significant factor.

Simple. She thought her husband was in possession of child porn and thus a potential danger to actual children.

Meanwhile, the people of Japan continue to read, buy, sell, trade & illustrate Lolicon & Shotacon mangas/anime every single day, 24/7, all year around & without living in fear of being arrested or turned in.

Why, custody cases. Unfortunately happened already. Though the charges got overturned at the highest appeal. However in this particular case I see no mention of the couple having children.
But yes, custody cases can get ugly...

or she could have been upset that he was wanking to this stuff rather than having sex with her.

Seriously though, dude, are you an idiot? Labeling your loli stash as "incest comics"? GEE, I WONDER WHAT'S IN THERE.

Hey, we could totally discuss our current legal system (including the nature of plea bargaining), what types of speech are protected and what are considered obscene, etc. Or we can make half-assed comments about a couple's relationship and sex lives based on jack shit knowledge and impute "impure" motives to one gender.

Since your post is the first one to bring "gender" into the conversation, does that make you the aforementioned half-assed poster? The background info about the wife contacting the police department is verbatim from the indictment, the public record of the case and source of all the legit facts on the subject. You're the only one bringing up "gender", everyone else is talking about the accused and his spouse, as described in the official documents.

I once told me friend that if I ever needed to have a porn folder, I'd name it "This is definitely not my porn folder" just to screw with people who peek around my comp.

If I were him I would have gone through every security measure in the book to make sure no one but me could get into the system. bios password, account password, tpm, biometric scanner, a token, hide the folders and password protect said folder incase anyone ever did manage to get into the system. Although odds are if they were determined and skillfull they would likley get through all that eventually. He should of put that stuff somewhere more secure like on an encrypted usb.swapping out the hard drive is simple as well.

Did you miss these lines?

"And keep your women far away from your computer! "
" or she could have been upset that he was wanking to this stuff rather than having sex with her."

If you don't find these lines anti-woman, I don't know what to say. Half the posters are, in fact, attacking his wife (who, I'll note, did nothing wrong) rather than the legal system.

So attacking a person for calling the cops on their spouse for something harmless is an automatic attack on their sex? Not a single post besmirching the wife here has been misogynistic.

If your response to a wife reporting their spouse for committing what they perceived to be a crime is "they were jealous because they didn't get enough sex," yes, you're being misogynistic.
