Or, like in my case, didn't know at all. I'm completely clueless as to how foreign televsion systems work other than there are various channels and about a buhmillion BBC networks in England. Wink

Actually there are only 4 BBC TV channels. 2 on terestrial transmitters, the original BBC 1 & 2. and 2 new Digital ones, BBC 3 & 4, Only seen via a Digi box receiver. Then there is British Sky Broadcasting. A digital DTH satellite broadcaster and distributor with 999 channels in various genre, and languages. Only viewed through a small dish on the wall of one's house connected to a subscription digi box with a duel hard drive TiVo, known as Sky+. Wink

In my opinion Evangelion is one of the greatest anime shows of all time. Adult Swim is doing the right thing by airing it, and will definantly have their ratings go up!

Yeah, but I wonder if anyone will actually watch it, considering how most anime fans have seen it already. I'll watch it, though, just to see if it airs at the TV-MA level like AS is allowed to do now.

don't bother, they won't listen. some people just feel the need to bitch about their precious anime getting mauled... if it isn't "OMG! IT'S GONNA GET DUBMAULED!" it's "OMG! THEY CUT STUFF OUT!" or even "OMG! THEY TRANSLATED *insert insignificant thing here* WRONG!!!"

I believe Adult Swim's ratings will go up. Sure, there's been many who've seen it, and out of that many, I'm positive that if they enjoyed watching it the first time, they're going to watch it again. I'm going to watch it. I didn't enjoy the ending, but that's a different story for another time. ^.~

And perhaps, they might butcher it, and the fans will yell at the TV, but that's what'll make this experience "fun". Rolling Eyes

It's not worth watching because obviously it WILL be edited.

As far as Adult Swim's standards go, I can see Kyle Pope's Edit List for the entire series now:

1) Not an edit... a bunch of stuff
2) Shinji's "Bullsh*t!" muted
3) Not an edit... another bunch of stuff
4) Digital bikini added to Rei
5) Not an edit...yet another bunch of stuff
6) Misato's "G*ddamn it!" muted.
7) Not an edit...somehow another bunch of stuff
8) Misato's "Don't give me that bullsh*t!" muted.
9) Not an edit...a big bunch of stuff
10) Shot of EVA Unit 03's head explosion shorted/blood removed
11) Not an edit...a really big bunch of stuff
12) Rei clones GANTZ'd (AKA some ray of light covering their nipples)
13) Not an edit...a really, really big bunch of stuff
14) Shot of Karou's decapitated head cut (although AS just might not edit that)
15) Not an edit...everything else (at least until the movies air)

Is that honestly enough to make such a brilliant show not worth watching?

You mean a nice "Digital Bra". Razz We just have to see how ADV/AS will treat it.

But it's owned by the same people and they both follow the standard rules of censorship.

No, they have different standards. The most intense shows Toonami is allowed to air are TV-PG shows. Adult Swim allows TV-14 and even mild TV-MA (as long as there isn't any excessive gore, nudity, or hardcore cursing). Since EVA has very little gore outside of the movies (and even then, it's against aliens and mechas, not humans, meaning most of it will be kept in), only 3 instances of hardcore cursing (which could easily be slipped), and a bit of nudity (which could easily be editted). Everything else in the show AS can handle.

Toonami, on the other hand, would have to edit out the majority of the sexual situations and violent moments, and they'd have no idea how to manage all of the controversial religious psychobabble moments that are very important to the plot. Toonami has gotten away with a lot in Naruto that they have trouble getting away with in some of their other animes (stabbing, non-gushing blood, Sexy Jutsu, "This sucks!", "kill", porno mags, they're supposedly keeping the controversial stuff in the Zabuza arc mostly intact), but even uncut Naruto looks like Pokemon in comparison with some of the major plot points in EVA. But on Adult Swim, you have no need to worry: EVA will be mostly uncut.

You must not have seen DBZ the other night. They showed Vegeta blow off Guldo's head AND blast it while it was still talking.

Eva movies on AS. That's funny.

Is that honestly enough to make such a brilliant show not worth watching?

I pity da foo who says yes.
