In fact, I think this show is heavily influenced by Kaiji's anime in the way it shows the over the topness and even the manga visual sound effects, it never hit me until now. |
The manga chapters for Stardust Crusaders came out before the Kaiji manga, so it would be the other way around.
The D'arby episodes were incredibly tense and easily among the best this season. Good stuff!

^ I mean in terms of the anime direction, not the original source or content itself, I know Jojo is way older. The way the anime team is directing it makes me think they probably found inspiration on how the others did it.

If anything, they're more likely to take inspiration from the old Jojo OVA that covered this fight.
Anyway, the D'arby fight has easily been the best fight so far. Aside from the almight bluff Jotaro pulled, Joseph cheating and playing head games and D'arby's stunt with the chocolate was simply amazing.

I was sick and out of town last week (still sick,) and as it turns out, almost nothing happened in the episode, so I'll be covering it together with the part 2 episode this week instead. I don't think Hol Horse and Boingo's comedy detour can fill two writeups, ha ha.

Why does Boingo's comic book version look like a woman? Is he so fearful and wary because he's secretly a girl?

Because he's a fan of British electronic pop duo Pet Shop Boys?

I think having Iggy's thoughts being actually spoken like a regular character will create additional impact later in the season.

Soooo happy to have an Iggy arc, so far he hasn't done that much. So after this is it off to fight Dio, or is there an Stand Users left.

Oh yeah, quite a few Stand users left. No worries, the fight with Dio will still be long and intense regardless!
