I read that CTS is sometimes caused by pregnancy or something like that. Anyway, i really hope that it goes away and that she'll get better soon. I wish her all the best in her recovery.

My wife had mild CTS symptoms during both of her pregnancies, although she had not experienced them before and has not had problems since. Tissue swelling due to fluid retention is par for the course during pregnancy so it's easy to see how that could trigger the symptoms in someone who normally doesn't have them or aggravate an existing case of CTS. And since a mangaka is a prime candidate for CTS to start with, it's not surprising that a pregnancy could turn a painful condition into a crippling one. Although you probably associate this condition with people whose jobs require repetitive hand movements (such as data processors, computer programmers, and assembly-line workers), it's also more prevalent in pregnant women."
