Hahahahaha, good job shooting yourself in the foot, FUNi.

Why even license something if you're going to censor it? That's just ridiculous at this day and age.

So it is for pedophiles, after all (not the edits; I mean the show).

Amen. But, now I'm certain that DitVB was a bundle deal. Funi are not idiots. They know that censoring something will decrease sales and create a backlash. If they had a choice, they would license something that has an equal fanbase, but that does not require any censoring like...HeartCatch Precure! (random example). They would much rather NOT piss off any fans. Still....bring on the R2 Bluray rips.

All in all...Funi's foot, meet the bullet.

Well, I am done with funimation then. I refuse to buy anything from anyone who engages in censorship of any kind.

Its one of the biggest disappointments this seasons you pillocks. Even fans of the manga hate it.

Isn't it more especially fans of the manga hate it? People who haven't read the manga, like myself, seem to think it's alright (definitely not one of the best of the season, but ok), but fans of the manga seem to absolutely detest it since it doesn't follow the manga at all (or at least from what I've heard, like I said, I haven't read it).

Too much going on in the school than on the vampire bund, personally. And I like most of Shinbo's works. It just seems too focused on the school.

I wish I could slap the idiot with no collective memory at the end of episode 6.

Huh. I just went and watched the opening sequence on YouTube and it really doesn't seem that prurient to me... I mean, the character is never shown completely naked and it actually looked kinda artsy. It didn't strike me as "lolicon" at all. But then again, I'm really unfamiliar with that genre, so maybe I just don't see how it could be construed as sexually arousing. (Guess that's a good thing, eh?) Either way, editing the DVDs is uncool. If you have to edit a series, just don't license it in the first place. It's getting a little too close to thought-control otherwise. I was gonna check this out, but not anymore.

Ok, so I won't be buying the DVDs. GJ Funimation. Luckily there are still plenty of other otaku goods for me to spend my money on.

With its market dominance and positioning towards the mainstream, perhaps Funi is the "new VIZ."

Not that I'm boycotting Funimation as a company at all...I preordered three copies of the Strike Witches DVD boxset, since it'll be uncensored as much as the Japanese R2's were.

Sadly, Funimation has what, a 50+% stake in the anime market? You'd run out of stuff to watch pretty quick.

But yeah, this is one series I was originally planning on buying when I heard it got licensed. Then I wake up today and see this news. I'm already following the manga, so that will just have to do until funi drops the edits and releases an uncensored version. I'm not 9 years old. I don't need someone determining what is ok for me to watch or not.

I'm disappointed to hear this, this looked like a show I could watch. However now I will pass. Now if an uncensored version comes out then I might change my mind.

Yep. Scary stuff happening.

I could go on and on about how stupid their "These are scenes which are inappropriate for U.S. viewing" statement is.

I completely stand by Funimation with what there doing with DitVB

In some areas of the country (or even out of the country) things like this can be taken out of context and end up with legal trouble. Even if the person depicted is over the legal age, it's better to be safe then sorry about releasing something like this (which has lolis in it with some questionable scenes)

Well thats my stand, better safe with a small edit then sorry when they get sued when some person takes it as loli porn / cp
