Ok people, I have a bit of a crisis going on right now, and hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction.

See, I own Lucky Star in the DVD singles, because I passed on the expensive LE sets at the time because I was short on cash. I then picked up all the CDs recently at the Bandai Store. Now, I'm rolling in it (almost literally) and I notice that nearly all of the Lucky Star LEs are selling for rockbottom prices. Would it be worth it for me to rebuy, since all I would really get out of the deal would be the artboxes and the shirts? Or just settle for the DVDs and be on my way? My OC is starting to act up, and for those prices I would have to be CRAZY not to pick them up. I need some help guys!

Buy the LE inserts from the Bandai Store. No sense in buying shirts that don't fit.

i've been trying to get GitS 2nd GIG boxset for a couple weeks now. Not anime legends but the larger grey box with the magnetic flap that folds up and all 7 dvd cases are inside. There was a guy on ebay who had it for about $50 and I was gonna buy, but I had just got burned on a bootleg of it that same week so I messaged him and in detail had him describe exactly the set to a t for me. Since then he has now raised the buy it now price 12 times up to over $110. Well, at least my EVA 1.11 BD should be arriving tomorrow so that's something good I guess.

Eden of the East looks interesting, and with the 12 Days sale over at TRSI I may get this sooner rather than later (I'll wait for the 12th day though). I'm also looking at Canaan, Eureka 7, Birdy the Mighty: Decode, Blue Drop, and eventually Eva 2.22. I found Perfect Blue and Millennium Actress the other day, so all I'm missing from my Satoshi Kon collection are Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika (and Memories if it exists).

On the manga front I'm considering Bokurano, Kashimashi, and Deadman Wonderland. Also, I'm still rare-hunting--I'm looking for Excel Saga vol. 7-8, Eva vol. 8-10, and Saikano vol. 7, as well as Tenchi Muyo DVD 4.

I've decided to ascend - or descend, depending on your point of view - another rung of the otaku ladder and get my first eroge. Tokemeki Check-in! is being offered for $9.99 through TRSI's 12 Days of Christmas sale, so we aren't talking a big investment here. Apparently, I'll be running an inn where it just so happens 10 schwanz-hungry bitches will be awaiting my 2D pleasure.

I've also confirmed (by sampling) this morning that I do want to buy Tweeny Witches. Love the artwork - kind of Tim Burtonesque. Still haven't decided whether I'll go the cheaper route and get the Core Collection and OVA collection separately (currently $45.48 at TRSI) or get the combined Book of Spells (currently $69.99). Hmmm, almost a $25 difference, eh? I suspect my cheap side will win out.

Hey, I'm considering that too! I've only played one eroge (this one), but they're fun. It's like watching hentai dubbed: It's hilarious without trying to be. Be warned, though, that they're pretty long, so you won't be shooting through this in one sitting unless you're snowed in or hocked up on coffee and Viagra.

It will probably take me a really long time then. Although I've never played an eroge before, I have played other "point and click" adventure/mystery games. Half an hour per session seems to be my limit.

ONE OF US! ONE OF US! ONE OF US!

Really, eroge aren't really all that bad. People make it seem like its somehow worse than porn, when its at worst, about 20 still pics of the naughty tango, and at its best has maybe 5 video clips. You see more naked naughties in your local adult periodicals.

But c'mon to the Otaku side. We are always needing new members to the club, and once you go eroge, you don't come back.

EVER.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have an Nami oppai mousepad to order. To the internets!

I have yet to buy a eroge game, which I want to do, I'm just waiting for the right time to do so (aka when I have the cash).

However though I am still deciding if I want to cross the point of no return and become a full fledged otaku and buy a body pillow.

Laughing Do I get some kind of special decoder ring now that I'm a "member of the club"?

@ asimpson2006 - I've managed to avoid the body pillow humiliation so far, but now that I'm going eroge, I'm assuming its just a matter of time... Twisted Evil

I wish I had some extra $ cause some of those deals for the 12 days of Christmas (on Right Stuf) are really tempting.

I am also really considering getting Princess Nine, over on Amazon (through the marketplace, dealing with several different dealers) you could get it for under $20 used (individual dvds).

I don't think the marketplace takes Amazon gift cards though, so I will have to wait a bit...

The 5 steps to becoming an Otaku! (Note, these steps can be completed in any order, but let's face it, its just more fun that way!)

1. Watch anime or read manga!
2. Purchase anime (Bonus points if purchase is an H anime/manga title)
3. Purchase figurines or model kits (Bonus points if its a cast-off figure or otherwise ecchi)
4. Purchase a Japanese videogame (Bonus points is its an eroge)
5. Buy anything that would be classified as "really REALLY weird " to all the mundanes out there (Bonus points if said item is a body pillow, oppai mousepad, or any otherwise H related materials)

Spend well, and spend often!

That may be right. Normally I wouldn't go down that road since most of the body pillows are quite expensive though some of the ones on Right Stuf are not so bad price wise. I've had my eye on this one for a bit.

Though I would rather have Francesca on it, but that's a story for another time.

When I get the $, I'm gonna pre-order FUNimation's January release of Gantz, which is gonna be my first pre-order. Wish the case wasn't so damn plain(when compared to its past releases), but hell, I'll take it. Gonna go see the live-action movie in theaters as well next month, so that's something to look forward to.

Just so you know, I'm unsure if they are getting the DVD extras ADV got for their release. The singles and the season boxes have them. Dunno if that matters to you, but hey just looking out..
