I have had this exact same problem, mostly in relation to video games. I'm a sucker for special editions but I'm reaching the critical limit of what my shelves can hold.

The box for the limited edition of Metal Gear Solid 5 is even worse than that. It's about four inches taller than the Rorona box.

Wasn't Kimidori the reverse-harem anime where all the guys had the same face but different hairstyles? I wonder why it has a dragon in it...didn't realise it was a fantasy anime. It's a pretty cute dragon though. Kinda reminds me of dragonite from pokemon. Hmmm...I want one!

Edit: took another look at Nina's shelves and realised that she should have put the art box on its side on the lowest shelf! There's definitely enough space and it wouldn't cause a 'see-saw' effect. She didn't think that one through enough =P

I've got most of the original LE boxes for Samurai 7, now those were big boxes. Also, the CEs for AC2 and FO3 were rather cumbersome. I imagine the $130 Killzone 3 set will be rather large. And now I just reminded myself of the 2' long baterang LE for Batman:AA, hehe...

I have many games with large/strangely shaped boxes. Most of my anime is not that bad. And if that's really the size of the NISA premium boxes, I guess I'm glad they haven't released anything I want.

It reminds me a little bit of the original Broccoli US Boxset for FLCL.

I JUST had this problem with the Okamiden OST. It's the thickness of one of those 4-CD jewel cases, but it's the size of a DVD. It doesn't fit anywhere.

Sometimes awesome box sets can be a pain. I totally thought of the NIS America premium box sets. I love the huge artwork on them, but they don't fit on any normal DVD/Blu-ray shelf! Maybe they should include a collapsed cardboard art box to slip the discs into. I also wonder if they will ever offer a non "premium" version.

I was about to say that. Even the games are really hard to fit. Atelier Rorona has to go in my bookshelf because it doesn't fit in my game shelf, and I can't bear to separate the game from the box~

Or the top of it. That's where my .hack//SIGN, My-Otome, and My-Otome Zwei boxes are.

Anime hyper Oh boy, poor NISA. But I have a similar problem without the NISA boxes. My Witch Hunter Robin set tends to be very difficult to place right on my shelf, not due to its height but because of its width and how it bulges out on the spine. It may be pretty, but it's a LOT more trouble than it's worth when organizing.
