Hey gang,

I live outside the U.S. and I'm going on vacation in September to New York or somewhere real close to it, and I was wondering if anybody can point out any anime-related places I could go and visit, be it a store, convention or something. I'd really appreciate your help being that it's my first trip to NY Embarassed. Also I know this is out of topic, but any videogame related places (except ebgames stores) are welcome too, or any pop culture that has to do with what anime otaku or the likes of it might find worth visiting or anywhere you guys think is cool!

I'm planning a trip up there for sometime in the next week as well, and here are some places that might spark your interest. Not all of them are anime related, but for the most part these should be some nice places for you to visit.

Japan Foundation - 152 W 57th St. (212)-489-1255
Japan Society - 333 E 47th St. (212)-832-1155
Japanese Swordsmanship Society - 1 Rockefeller Plaza (212)-691-2891
Central Park Media Corp. - 250 W. 57th St. #317 (212)-977-7456
Kinokuniya Stationary & Gift - 10 W. 49th St. (212)-765-7766
Asahiya Bookstore - 360 Madison Ave. (212)-883-0011
Madame Tussauds - 234 W. 42nd St. (212)-512-9600
Midtown Comics Times Square - 200 W. 40th St. (Corner of 7th Ave) (212)-302-8192
Midtown Comics Grand Central - 459 Lexington Ave. (Corner of 45th St.)
Nintendo World Store - 10 Rockefella Plaza

You can find the places on Google Earth or Google Maps with relative ease. Best of luck when you go to NYC! I hope you have fun.
