USA + Japan... for some, this combination is the beacon of freedom.

U.S.A.
- Free to own firearms guaranteed under the constitution
- specialty deemed divisive: "Assault Weapons" (AR-15s etc)

Japan
- Free to publish and own no-holds-barred ero works (be it 2D or 3D)
- specialty deemed divisive: lolis

Again, in Japan under "Ishihara's Law", authorities are only concerned whether the manga or anime (on DVD/Bluray) in question comes with R18 sticker. Authors are still free to publish anything imaginable but as long as they clearly distinguish what's deemed appropriate for General Audience (no R18 sticker) and what should be relegated to R18 corner (sticker required and stored in the backrooms)

Might want to read this article a little closer;

Jin Toriyama: 2 18+ titles put on hiatus due to police investigation for violations
...
Although Toriyama said that the latter magazine's material was found to be fairly risque, both magazines were marked with the 18+ label.
Worst case scenario the interpretation of applicable laws(mainly Article 175) are slowly changing...

Hentai anime featuring pixies & trolls? Pixies, yeah, I can understand, but how do you make trolls sexy?

Great, now I'm hungry for potatoes.

Yooooooooooou raaaaaaaaaaaang?

I really want to know how much punishment he'd have gotten, if any, if he didn't have the prior problems.

Somewhere along the way they may have forgotten to add "pixels", mosaics, "blackbars" on selected pages in that issue? Laughing

Seriously, the front cover of most Comicstore mags looks so brazen... even COMIC_LO front cover looks G-rated in comparison... and LO saves most of the good juice inside when you flip the front page Laughing

To me this is nothing but moving goalpost mere technicality. With almost unlimited powers the enforcers looks like they clearly want clean front page.

Coming soon for further scrutiny by Japanese enforcers: Comic X-Eros

I would assume it was the troll males raping the female pixies.

The worst part to me is that it isn't even the images themselves that are deemed illegal, but rather what they MIGHT lead someone to do. I don't know if there is any clearer example of thought policing than this case. Buying a set of knives MIGHT lead to me using them for violence, but it's far more likely that I'll just use them to cut food. There is always the chance somebody might do something, but without any actual evidence that it will happen, you're just punishing people based on guess work. I'd really like to know what sort of data the people who drafted this law were using in order to think this was a good idea. Bell's quote highlights just how stupid this is. "Nobody was actually hurt, but we're going to punish you anyway because we simply don't like it." Good one. Rolling Eyes

We are en route to a pycho-pass world, we are already one foot there.

Eh, it says he assaulted a teen boy. I'd consider him a threat to society.

Indeed, yet the logic is screwed up an even more that its used to justify this arbitrary retarded action. As if people don't have the opportunity to redeem themselves.

He was most likely watched a pixy-soft movie. Personally i found monsters 0 sexy and arousing, but well, many seem to like that type of hentai.

Agreed, megastore issue is almost surely due to not enough or almost 0 censorship.
