Viz confirmed that all of Shueisha's manga-ka are safe, and Gintama runs in Shonen Jump, so, I'd assume that means he's safe, as well. Also, he's listed on the spreadsheet as being confirmed safe. |

See? We're paying attention! I'm trying to get through as many of the requests as possible. I know a lot of people were asking about Maaya Sakamoto and I found an update on her today; she's fine. |

I don't know whether these sources are reliable or not, but they claim that Kentaro Ito (Abarai Renji from Bleach, Ranmaru Ōmi from Ikoku Irokoi Romantan and Hiroki Kamijo from Junjo Romantica (just to name a few)) and Yusa Kouji (Ichimaru Gin from Bleach) are alive.

Anyone have any more information on whether they're alive or not? And I'm so glad to see so many people's names on this list. I'm also very sad that so many people have died... the last time I checked the death toll was over 5000. My heart goes out to everyone who lost a loved one, or whose loved ones are still missing. |

Well, I don't have any new information but I'll reiterate that Yusuke Kozaki, okama, Takuma Tomomasa, and Takeshi Nogami are safe. (As safe as one can be, at least.)
Now, here's who I'm waiting to hear about: Range Murata Saeko Chiba Masaki Kajishima the pillows Any information would be much appreciated! |

I'm still hoping that Mamoru Oshii is okay. I haven't been able to find any updates regarding his status via Google, ANN forum search, etc.

Not to be nitpicky, but just to be absolutely clear for my own peace of mind: When ANN posts, "Viz Media has confirmed with ANN that it has been in contact with its co-owners, Shogakukan and Shueisha, and that all of its creators are safe" (emphasis mine), is that latter "its" in reference to Viz Media, or Shogakukan and Shueisha? Because they're not equivalent. I think it's phrased a little unclearly because to me it sounds like it is referring to Viz and not necessarily all of Shogakukan & Shueisha (I'm pretty sure Viz doesn't pick up every single title by S & S). And before anyone refers me to "the spreadsheets," I'm pretty sure they're at least partly using ANN as a source in the first place and are not sufficient as proof in and of themselves.
Sorry if I'm being overly cautious. |

AT this point, I think it'd be easier instead just to have a casualty list.
I imagine it'd be like Cobra Commander's "Wall of Fallen". |
