I also thought Tiger & Bunny when I saw this. I don't mind them updating the look, but my first reaction is that they look ugly. I'll wait to see a few episodes though for a final verdict as it may grow on me. But my initial excitement has cooled a bit and its more like cautious optimism.

My problem is how random the designs seem to be. There's no uniformity. That said, their powers sound interesting, and I like the art style.

I think the costume variation has to do with how their powers manifest.

With all the hue and cry about anime originality these days, we're going to bemoan an original take on a classic series?

C'mon!

I for one, being an OLD anime fan from when Gatchaman was new I am excited to see this happen.

Besides the uniforms, they're still retaining alot of the old symbolism and logos/emblems. I can do without the Bird Suits. This is the new superhero anyways: Capes are so 70's and 80's.

Cannot wait to see this.

With the recent Tatsunoko/Sentai deal, I'm expecting an eventual BD/DVD release. So it's all good...I hope.

Well, I really don't dig those designs. The original Gatchaman costumes had style. They were cool. This just feels like a tacky Tiger and Bunny knockoff...

Oh and stationery again? Am I the only one who finds the strange-girl-with-stationery trope boring to death? Like everyone, I loved the way it was used in Bakemonogatari but now It's just not that interesting of an image anymore. We've got three in one season (Senjogahara, Dog and Scissors and now this). Rolling Eyes

Still, I am pretty pumped for this show. It's Kenji Nakamura!
