What: A convention focusing on Girls and Women's comic!! Let's here it for the girls!! When: August 22-24, 2003 Where: The Ryetown Hilton, 699 Westchester Avenue, Rye Brook, NY Tel: 914 934 2600 http://www.ryetown.hilton.com Website: www.shoujocon.com Cost: Between February 16, 2003 - July 15, 2003 $35 Group Pre-Registration: Shoujocon 2003 offers group pre-registration this year. Register five people or more and receive $5 off the current pre-registration rate per person, at the time you register. Groups must pre-register using our online form (see link to PayPal provided below). Snail mail group registration and payments are not accepted. There is no at-door registration for groups. Registration at the Con: Full-weekend admission $45 Two-day admission: Friday/Saturday only $35 One-day admission: Friday or Saturday $25 Sunday only $15 Children 12 years and younger (at-door only; only with paid adult admission)*: Full weekend (three days) $20 Two-day (Friday/Saturday only) $15 One day (Friday, Saturday or Sunday) $10 *Children must be accompanied and supervised by a paid adult per three children AT ALL TIMES while at Shoujocon. Then the largest, best convention for girls' and women's anime and manga (well, in my humble opinion, it is) takes place. Still want to pre-register? You have until July 15. Shoujocon has a Japanese guest for 2003. Tomoko Taniguchi is the gifted creator of shoujo comics titles such as Call Me Princess, Aquarium and Let's Stay Together Forever. We're proud to welcome Ms. Taniguchi to Shoujocon, where she'll meet some of the best shoujo fans around! 2003 AMERICAN MANGAKA GUEST: KATIE BAIR Katie Bair is the talented artist behind Antarctic Press' Ninja High School, and a contributor to AP's upcoming Shoujo! Anthology. When Ms. Bair is not creating amazing 2D characters, she's making them come to life as a cosplayer. SILVER ASH CANCELLATION We regret to announce that Live Music guests Silver Ash have cancelled their appearance at Shoujocon, due to the current SARS outbreak in China and the restrictions the World Health Organization (WHO) has placed on China's citizens re: out-of-country travel. 2003 PANELS AND DISCUSSIONS LISTINGS NOW UP One of our strengths is our Interactive (Panels, Discussions and Workshops) lineup.
