I always knew the best way to defeat a titan was to throw a train at it! Laughing

Kinda surprised that the video here is the Japanese one, and not the official English one (same video, just without the English text at the start saying the final game will have English text, and the note that says it's gameplay-in-progress at the top).

The story is only hard to follow because people keep skipping the handheld games.

That looked pretty bad. Not graphically or anything(not that it looked great) just kind of boring. Oh well I doubt it's really a representation of what that game actually will be when it comes out on PS5.

No the story can be pretty convoluted regardless. And you can't expect everyone to own each handheld system to play every essential game.

There's nothing wrong with the story. Maybe you'll understand it better if you pick up 1.5 and 2.5 remix and pay attention lol.

Should be stand alone. Shouldn't have to play something to understand a sequel. Don't have to watch A New Hope or Empire Strikes back to get the best of Return of the Jedi, do I? No I don't. Good sequels need to be able to stand up on their own two feet. It's bad enough a show like Gundam SEED Destiny is a shitty show, but it's a shitty show that requires significant knowledge of the original SEED.

How does that make sense though? A sequel is meant to continue the story of the original. If the sequel had completely different characters and had a whole different plot that'd be different. But these games are meant to tie into each other. I see nothing wrong with that. Plus, it is not THAT hard to understand the story. It's really not confusing at all.

Until you understand these guys are in the business of making money and could care less about your qualms about the decent story (I've seen worse stories by far), you're not going to get what you want because you don't want to try to understand it. The manga, the portable games, and everything ties into the series. You can even go to youtube to watch it without playing it...

You don't have to play the handheld games to know exactly what is going on. I have never played Chain of Memories and it comes between 1 and 2 and I understood all that was going on in the main story. See, that's the deal "main" story and "sub" story.
...the handheld titles are sub-story companions. You don't have to play them, but it would be cool if you did.
