Well, what have you given us other than Crocodile Dundee, the Croc Hunter, Sea Shepard *cough*EcoTerrorist*cough* Group, and Fosters?

Certainly not being friendly.

I'm not Australian. The video was very funny indeed...(reminded me of shows like cops, or the treatment Muslims used to get in Airports when traveling to USA some years ago)...Anime hyper

Part of the problem here in Australia is that we don't have an 18+ rating classification for video games such as we have in films and other media. So any game that fails to meet the M+ rating cannot get a classification and therefore cannot be sold. It's stupid shortcoming in the law.

It's not so much that these things are banned but, rather, the law has fallen way behind developments in technology.

Of course, the moral panic merchants are lobbying to prevent an 18+ category being created.

This game is no where near close to an 18+ age limit. The game would need full on sex, and perhaps graphic cannibalism to get that close to requiring an 18+ age mandate.

Exactly. For contrast, Duke Nukem Forever gets an M rating, not AO, meaning even something like that is not restricted.

I would definitely say the original rating was fine. There's nothing more explicit that what you'd see going to the beach (and less so if compared to beaches in other countries, heh)

Just give DOA:D the same rating as the previous DOA games and be done with it. Simple. Laughing

Oh, isn't it that insane kiddy porn game? I do hope that anyone who buys it gets arrested and thrown in prison with all the murderers and rapists where they belong.
That won't, (or shouldn't ) happen, but if it did they most likely would be placed in a segregated prison anyway, because even most murderers and rapists hate Paedos too, and would love to get their hands on one when the guards aren't paying attention. Twisted Evil In regards to that cover drawing, it's usually the other way round where they declare that the girl who obviously looks 10 is actually 18, or 18,000 years old, rather than saying this girl who looks 18 or older is "under 18". Talk about your turkey voting for Christmas. Laughing

On a lighter note; any of those packages with the PG rating already sold before the ban will be now worth triple their RP. Wink

face palm... really just really? i don't care at this point besides i play eroge's all the time and guess what? half if not all under the age of 18, here in America it's based on how the character looks. They can not depict anything that LOOKS LIKE A MINOR and i hate to break it to moral police, those girls could pass off for any age, it just adds more drama to the story "Eroges not dead or alive". Moving on dead or alive has always been a hit/miss with me sometimes, i loved the 1st, 2nd and 3rd game but shit I think the franchise took a nosedive after beach volleyball. What gets me the most though is that in the main country that started this "Sweden" it is legal to have sex with 15 year old so does this make any sense to you?

all porn has to be is something classified that someone can get off to. IF some one can get off to 3d shots of panties under a girls skirt, then it counts as porn.

What is wrong with the Australian government these days? First they banned Mortal Kombat, and now Dead or Alive, which is tame by comparison. I see zero hope for Ninja Gaiden 3, and Gears 3.

Why the hell would they ban Mortal Kombat in Australia? And now Dead or Alive? That country's retarded for doing this.

Looks like another country that America needs to conquer...teach them freedom the superior American way.

This is even more stupid and inane than Ishiharas Tokyo Youth Ordinance Bill. At least Tokyo's law does not prevent people over a certain age from buying any type of regulated content. The purpose of which is to potentially protect said content from getting in the hands of young children. The DoA ban prevents ALL buyers from obtaining the product, as if adults need to be told what they can and can't buy. Basically the only people who are actually protected from this measure are fictional ones who don't even exist, which serves no purpose whatsoever, thereby only inconveniencing frustrated game players.

I've noticed before that the Australian government can be surprisingly paternalistic about entertainment (I'm assuming that this sort of thing is chiefly a federal matter). I suspect that there's just not much a constituency for a rating reform that would correct this sort of irritation.

What really depresses me about stories like this is that the games, or series or what-have-you that prompt them are never things that I would wish to defend on any grounds but principle. I'm indeed opposed to policies like the one that lead to this, but I can't exactly feel good about rallying to the side of a damned Dead or Alive game.

Some people here have poor reading comprehension. Smile
