Description is waaay too vague; specifically, as a "military history" manga, when is the setting? Taisho Era or WW2 etc.?

I enjoyed Maid-sama so I'll certainly check it out. Maid-sama license rescue, please Viz? I'm surprised they never got it to begin with, considering they have all the other popular LaLa series.
