spoiler[So he is learning something after all. Slowly, but surely that place is growing on him. Sure he has some misfortune along the way, but it's still fun! Didn't know he was into cats that much. His adventure with the strays was ROFL A cat lover that's allergic to cats... what a bummer. New characters makes an appearance. Akki fit right in with all the other add-on kids. He was so stressed over the boat it was hilarious!! Fun episode ^^] |

Episode 4:
LOL, I can't help but smile with the way spoiler[Seishuu interacts with cats in this show. It was so priceless! Shame he has some allergies...] As usual, I thought the episode was funny and made me spoiler[laugh quite a bit whether it's Seishuu's limited knowledge on old fashioned phones or when Naru made a handprint on that boat.] Great episode. |

I think he should have painted among all the spoiler[handprints].
Also, he should have asked his agent for a phone while he was at it. Poor little spoiler[bubblegum face Hina].

They skipped the whole typhoon story. Due to a lightning strike, Handa's computer shorted out because there's no surge protector. Only after reading the manga did I realize just how much content they pack into an episode. I can never remember which story was in which chapter, but according to Wikipedia: Ep 1 - ch. 1-3 (vol.1) Ep 2 - ch. 4-6.5 (vol.1), ch. 16 (vol.2) Ep 3 - ch. 11-14 (vol.2), bonus ch. 7 (vol.1) Ep 4 - ch. 27 & 33 (vol.4), bonus ch.10 (vol.2) Huge skip between eps. 3 and 4 there. The typhoon chapter that they skipped (which explained the broken PC) was the last chapter in vol.3. The good thing about the anime though is that while it's going at a fast pace compared to the manga, it doesn't feel unnatural. I suppose it helps that the stories are rather stand-alone. Btw, I highly recommend the spin-off manga Handa-kun. I think I laughed more reading that than Barakamon. The story is about Handa while he was in high school and all his misconceptions and misunderstandings. It's HILARIOUS. |

Episode 4
I started to worry that maybe it is mellowing, but then there are bits that are just gold. The man spoiler[handling of stray cats]. Handa not spoiler[knowing to turn a dial phone]. Hina's face spoiler[covered in bubble gum]. The kids actually feel quite fun, Hina especially feels cuter. Also making the kids spoiler[think the paint will melt their hands], classic tease, like what people actually would pull. |

All those kitties...too cute, just too cute. Too bad spoiler[Handa's allergic. I love cats, too, I'd be so depressed if I couldn't touch them.]
The part with spoiler[the rotary phone] was hilarious. And I liked Handa's finished product with the boat, but I knew there was no way that spoiler[Miwa's dad would not end up seeing all those things he wrote on the boards.] |

spoiler[He really has nice neighbors. I think he would die of hunger if it weren't for them. Konomon thing was kinda LOL Saishuu as a caligraphy teacher... He was working the kids too hard. It was just like him to take things too far. Naru does seem to like Seishuu a lot. The whole sensei's girlfriend thing was funny as well. Yay! Trip to the beach! (Most anime seem to have those..) It's never boring when everyone is together ^^ He sure knocked himself out quite a lot... he's hopeless. So Seishuu learned responsibility.. nice. Can't wait to see what'll happen next time with the new visitors.] |

The closeup of his shoe sliding like that brought back very painful memories...broken bones painful. >.< |

Episode 5:
NOW THIS IS HOW YOU DO A spoiler[BEACH EPISODE.] What a funny episode it was. I loved it from the spoiler[octopus, the part with the Konomon, and the calligraphy. The BL misunderstanding was amusing to and priceless to watch. Ah, I think at this point, this show deserves a nomination for best comedy of the year. ] |

Hina's really cute when she's doing something other than crying. Her and Naru playing together in the water was adorable. The part at the end when Handa spoiler[admitted that he actually cares about the kids] was very sweet. Looks like next episode we'll get a new character, and some more of Kawafuji. Looking forward to seeing what they bring into the mix. |
