Darn, another disappointing day.... although, perhaps that's a good thing? My wallet can only handle so much at once....
But who am I kidding, they're gonna hit me and hit me hard all at once or something, knowing them.... Viz's thursday manga sales are my biggest weakness of course, I fear every thursday now... And, given it being Rightstuf, I expect most, if not all of the Nozomi stuff to fall into the sale. Turn A Gundam sets 1 and 2..... maybe, I mean, they're new releases but still.... maybe... @Ggultra I decided to just go ahead and take a risk on Reideen myself. It's not an easy series to find solid information on, honestly. At least in terms of reviews. Even googling it gives me more reviews on old school Brave Reideen figures than the 2007 anime reviews. Course, I probably won't watch it for a while, even after getting it in (due to backlog, manga and comics to read, life etc etc), just know that I decided to blind buy it too. I'm a sucker for mecha series. |

Nothing worth getting from this batch from my end either. Might go for the old Sol Bianca OVA series, but would love to combine it with other titles for free shipping.
@classiczawa: I Googled for the series and found a couple reviews for it. Seemed like thoughts of it were mixed from the few reviews I could find on it. Like you, I can't splurge on too much at once since I still have to do Christmas shopping for the rest of the family from my end. |

No complaints on Steins Gate and Yozakura Quartet. However, I found myself underwhelmed with Amagami and Love Lab, the former for mostly being your typical dating sim spinoff in spite of its "girl of the arc" gimmick and the latter not being much different from your typical adapted 4-koma slice-of-life comedy manga titles. |

It has an ending, just not a very good one. I don't remember any specific details though beyond my own comment "For an Observer, you're not very observant." But the fact that I remember that more than any about the show is certainly not a good sign. It's a really benign atmosphere which is not the best fit for a desert punk series. If Aria had no water and a giant insect problem, it'd be this series. I don't dislike it but I do feel it doesn't live up to its potential. For a post apocalyptic slice of life series to work, it needs a strong main character- not physical strong but someone with a compelling personality- and between the talking tank and narration, you can tell how little faith they had in Honoka to carry the show. However, 19.99 sounds about right. |
